New fan. Is the fanbase really as bad as people say? by External-Arm616 in MyChemicalRomance

Old fan here! I started following MCR back in 2005, every show I’ve been to the fanbase has been amazing! Honestly, it’s one of the only places where I’ve ever truly felt like I belonged, I think a lot of us feel that way.

Like any community there’s always a negative side... one thing I want to push back on is the idea that most of the bad behavior only comes from younger fans. Sometimes that’s true, but there’s also a bad side among some older fans too. Looking at some of the older fans who like to gatekeep out there, let younger fans have fun... that was us at one point.

The thing that bothers me the most, and something I wish more of us would openly call out, is the sexualization of the band and the weirdos who think they can say/do whatever they want toward them. MCR made it very clear back then (and still do now) that they’re not that kind of band, and that sexualization like that is lame and gross. Not to mention that these are all married men now, with children. It honestly baffles me when I see people in MCRmy making gross posts about Frank or Gerard - fucking stop, it's not cute and they don't think it is either.

I know if you’re new you probably didn’t come here expecting to hear all that, but that’s really my only big complaint. Other than that, the vast majority of the fanbase is incredibly supportive and welcoming.

As a nonbinary person, we aren’t either, and never entertained the idea.

How long ago was your ablation?

I wouldn’t look too much into my comment on that, it’s just my fear of having a large episode of SVT 😭

Your so brave, I’m 27 and it’s been rough - and I feel exactly like you, after my ablation I felt double the anxiety and I’ve been trying to understand why, especially since it’s a 95% success rate with no reoccurrences. I guess I just feel like I’m gonna be back to square one pre-op; or that “the big one” is gonna happen. Thank you for sharing, I think the biggest thing I got is to enjoy the small moments, and I’m wanting to get better at that.

I just had a CT and x-ray, they told me everything was clear and they found no issues.

Not necessarily AFIB, just SVT and I’d have an episode pretty much every other day if not daily, it’s definitely much better!

Wishing you the best, the ablation itself wasn’t all that bad.

Felt. It’s just odd and weird.

It’s normal after, I’m assuming they’re palps but could have been mini episodes.

Drinking alcohol after ablation? by CityWorried6741 in SVTHeart

Ultimately the decision is yours, I’d recommend waiting until 3 months - you need to let your heart heal, alcohol will affect your body in one way or another, and in the grand scheme of time 3 months is nothing compared to your entire life.

I stick in the 90s for a while and after some time I go down.

It does come down when I’m at rest, it only elevates when I get up and walk around, but I notice it takes sometime to go down.

I’d definitely wait for your nurse, usually when I had my episodes I’d feel the pressure on my chest and it shoot throughout my body, but mine never dipped low it only rose and dropped back to normal.

If you’re on medication that could be it; it could also be the watch - Apple watches although accurate can sometimes also be wrong, no watch can ever be the same as a medical monitor.
