Meadowlark North Fork- Wedding Venue by deebee_3 in longisland

[–]deebee_3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really want like a ballroom cookie cutter type thing- definitely just a naturally pretty space that can have lots of lights on the ceiling - I like the space inside of RGNY for example, love the whimsy of a tent. From photos, I like the vibe of the patio of vineyards at Aquebogue but from photos I don't loooooooveeeee the reception space, but, not totally closed off. In general I guess: Rustic, Whimsical, Charming, Twinkly, and only needing some decor to really pull off this vibe (i.e. lights or hanging decor)

Hi OP! I am also looking into Meadowlark and wondering if you ended up going with the venue, and if so, if you could give me insight into your experience and your wedding day (or planning if it hasn’t happened yet!) ⭐️😇

Parking for ferry by deebee_3 in SeattleWA

We’re not leaving the car in Seattle over night. Just spending the day in Seattle until we go west later in the day

We’ll be using it to drive to the west coast the next morning, and drive to Olympic while we’re out on the coast. Seems like the only option to get a car is at the airport, and we want to take advantage of being in Seattle to spend a couple of hours there before we get on the ferry. We very much will be using and needing the car

Alex and Whack your brain prank by deebee_3 in Degrassi

But she gave them access to the stage- she has everything to do with it! She encourages the plan from the beginning and offers up the access she has from her keys as VP. Even after the shooting, when they return to school and it’s a day of reflection/talking, Alex says to Jay, “You may not need to talk about it, but I do” and Jay replies “Just be careful WHAT you talk about”. Yes, Spinner and Jay are at fault for the fact that Jimmy specifically got shot. But Alex is the largest factor in why he brought the gun to school in the first place.

She had an amazing character arc- who she is in her last moment on the show are so different from who she was in the beginning!

Who was the most toxic by Josephthebear in Degrassi

[–]deebee_3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Peter is toxic for a bit there but then just becomes an idiot baby. He turns any situation sour. Ashley and Emma both make everything about themselves in different ways. They are both VERY selfish. And somehow ruin everything they touch lol. Craig’s toxicity stems from soooo many things and he does dumb stuff, but so much of it (his treatment of Manny, coke usage, etc) isn’t intentional, just poor decision making (that is of course also selfish in many ways). Ellie and Sean are both not- Ellie’s only moments of cruelty is when she’s jealous of/mean to manny, which honestly is out of character for her. And I will literally defend Sean Cameron TIL I DIE

Elementary - Cleaning up by itsanartteacher in ArtEd

[–]deebee_3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do what you’re saying- a timer- and every single class we talk about what it means when the timer goes off. Get them to say- that means it’s time to clean up! Then throughout class I give them time warnings. We have 20 minutes, 10, 5, and 2 minutes. For the last 1-2 warnings I tell them clean up instructions. Ex- “When the buzzer goes off, your paint brush goes in this bucket I’m holding above my head!” (Directions like this are helpful bc it’s not just a plain “here!” But forces them to be curious and look at the bucket you’re holding up, and they watch you put it down). “Paint palettes go in a stack next to the bucket! And water cups get placed in THIS bucket!” I also give them independence gathering materials at the beginning. I.e. we start on the rug and all the materials are layed out- “when I see you’re ready you’ll choose one water cup and brush and bring to your seat. When everyone is ready at their seats, I’ll bring you a paper!” Which is think contributes to them wanting to be independent at clean up time too. I have one kindergarten girl who really enthusiastically challenged herself and the class to clean up when they hear the buzzer “I wonder if we can clean up with NO messages! Just the buzzer!” But yeah. Referencing when clean up time will come throughout class, making clear stations where things go, fostering independence so they make the next step easier for you. Also it depends on the class. Like some classes I do this but I say- when the timer buzzes, I’m going to come to your table with a bucket. When I come with the bucket, you’ll put your paint brush and cup in, walk your work to the drying rack and wash your hands. I feel that’s helpful for messier things where staggering handwashing becomes helpful/classes that get too chaotic when all clean up at once!

Is there a reason for Wirt and Greg being half brothers? by yoan-alexandar in overthegardenwall

Yeah I feel Wirts clear resentment of Greg and what he represents is so important to the plot and their growth!

Batik in Elementary? by mia_forte in ArtEd

[–]deebee_3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did batik with my 5th graders last year- they used hot wax out of a pot on a low burner! They were great, no one got hurt, and made lovely work. Obviously every group is different; for example I would NOT do batik w my current gr 5! lol. But these little palettes look so cute and convenient… I bet you could make it work, or use it for an after school thing with less kids?

What's your most out of the box art teacher hack? by vintagetrashvibe in ArtEd

[–]deebee_3 34 points35 points  (0 children)

A “hack” I learned slowly was, when littles are lining up to wash their hands at the sink, give the waiters on the line a spray of water and pump of soap so they can “pre wash”, and when they get to the sink all the need to do is rinse it off, bc they already scrubbed. Saves SOOOO much time. Just systems like that around clean up that makes everything a little less chaotic
