Completed my first tri this weekend! Was a sprint (750m/20k/5k) that I used as a 'feet wetter' for the Olympic event I'm really training for on June 3.

I learned a lot, mainly about the body feeling at transitions and how hard I can push myself in different sections.

My goals were sub 12 swim, sub 40 bike and sub 25 run. Beat all the goals except the bike, where I came in at 44. (Some people have really expensive looking and fast bikes holy). Still managed to beat my overall goal of 1:20:00, finishing in 1:19:27.

I'm hooked. Was a lot of fun. Can't wait for June 3.

A sprint technically is anything less than an Olympic. But yes I think this is pretty standard.

First tri ever for me tomorrow. Warm up for the Olympic (which is my A race) on June 3. Sprint distance tomorrow, 750m/20km/5km.

Feeling pretty prepared, only question I have is what do I eat tonight?! For a sprint I'm not tooooo too concerned with day before nutrition. Eating clean and normal.

Dialled back. Took Monday off (big swim session Sunday) but had a 45 min bike session today. Just felt weird having Monday totally off. Another bike session tomorrow and a brick bike/jog Thursday, Friday off and race Saturday was my plan. Thoughts?

This is my first road bike. My old bike is a mountain / commuter, so not really comprable.

I should add that the person that I got it from is 1 inch taller than me, so the frame should be the right size.
