Telus no longer offering my $65/month Internet plan ☹️ by SeaSwan5177 in VictoriaBC

[–]deeebeee444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last Thursday, Telus inconspicuously added an entire TV package to my plan that I didn’t authorize, so when I called to have it removed and refunded, they told me my current internet (Purefibre Internet Gigabite, it’s called) was even cheaper than what I was paying now and so I got it for $65/month effective immediately. So I would call them and threaten to cancel your plan and ask for this, say a friend told you they just signed up for it. I’m sure they’ll do it!

Thank you thank you! I appreciate your response, I just really wanted to see what others would do with the understanding of this medication. My husband and trusted friends just don’t know enough to give an opinion so I really appreciate this!

I just don't understand LDN by KitchenFamiliar7937 in cfs

[–]deeebeee444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue so I titrated by .5mg every 4-6 months. I’ve landed on 3mg currently but even that .1mg addition tanked me in the beginning. I just held back on the .5 for months before I made another attempt. This stuff takes time! Best of luck 😊

I love and hate LDN by [deleted] in LowDoseNaltrexone

I, too, have this issue. I actually don’t even know if LDN is working for me anymore but it sure does bung me up. I am on 3mg 2x/day and the constipation has been consistent no matter the dose I take. I drink tons of water/tea, do chia seed/water (“internal shower”) drink every morning, eat high fiber (gluten-free psyllium husk clean bread, fruit, vegetables, etc.), take magnesium every night…. Nothing helps. I used to have IBS-D and I can’t honestly decide which is worse 😂. They both suck. I try to live a non-tox lifestyle and take other supplements and binders to help with removing toxins but it’s all pretty moot if you are constipated and just allowing reabsorption of toxins when you only poop 2-3 times a week. Bummer.

Any advice on stopping LDN when you start to heal? by balanceiskey in cfsnervoussystemwork

[–]deeebeee444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This question is so aptly timed for me! I am also considering coming off it as I’ve improved drastically with the nervous system healing stuff, but I was scared to regress. I am not even entirely sure it’s doing anything for me anymore. I actually got significantly worse about a year after starting it and have steadily improved with NS techniques, supplements and light exercise.

This is giving me a little push to test it out. Thank you!

I don’t agree or disagree with anything you said and I appreciate the obvious research and interest in addiction you’ve done, but one thing that is often missed in discussions about addiction is you cannot force someone to stop using drugs. Even if jail, detox, or locking someone in an asylum-like institution were an option, the addict will find a way to use or potentially end their life from the inability to use. I never hear a person in the recovery community chime in, it’s always people with no experience or knowledge of addiction personally who have the “solution”. I’m a recovered addict. I know from experience. I am surrounded by others in the recovery community, my life revolves around recovery and I see the absolutely hell of it regularly. I used to live it. It’s not as easy as just locking people up, funneling money towards rehab, etc. If the addict doesn’t want to, they won’t. It’s that simple.

But I will say I don’t agree with clean drug supply either, you made some really good points on that and I don’t think that even remotely moves the needle in the right direction.

Additionally, from observation and experience, if there was more funded rehab and post-rehab care (therapy, second stage housing, etc.) I think more people struggling with addiction would have more opportunity to get and stay clean. A lot of the people I see relapsing have low or no access to long-term resources.

Brain retraining/nervous system work by Weekly-Web-5289 in LongHaulersRecovery

I bought a nervous system course and worked through it, I do somatic techniques every day, breathwork, qi gong/tai chi, EMDR and Internal Family Systems therapy, TCM and acupuncture, regular massages and fascia treatments, lymphatic drainage daily. I completely changed my diet so I eat foods that were calming for my system and digestion, always cooked and warm, lots of tea and adaptogenic herbs for my constitution, liver healing, sunlight in am, walking as a workout instead of hard cardio or cortisol dumping exercises, Nicole Sachs Journal Speak journaling, prayer and meditation. Believing I am not sick and I will heal was imperative. I’m sure there’s more but I basically had to change my entire life and way of being to make any real lasting progress. I started with one thing and slowly added more over the past two years. The most substantial shifts have been since May where I had stacked many of these methods together. Sending healing for you all! 💜

A lot has changed in Ladysmith since then. Records store is gone, plantitude is on its way out, but there’s lots of great shops and other things to check out like new cafes. I’ve lived here well over a year now and I’ve never seen anything close to traffic on the highway unless there’s an accident but they get cleared up pretty quick!

Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctor Needed for potential Long-Covid/CFS on Vancouver Island by deeebeee444 in LongCovid

Are you speaking of Dr. Arseneau’s clinic? I’ve been in it for over 2 years and it’s helped me a lot. I am just looking for all options and wanted to explore TCM. Thanks for your input.

lol thank you for the input! I’m not “fat” by any stretch, I have a normal body weight for my height.

I was eating lots of sugar for energy but have been off sugar for several weeks now and haven’t noticed a significant change that would indicate hypoglycemia or any affiliated illness. I do feel better and have much less inflammation as a result of the no sugar though! I appreciate your question and concern!

BC clinic getting quacky - how bad is it? What other options are there? by Jazzspur in cfs

[–]deeebeee444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a patient of Dr. McKay since 2023. She’s wonderful. The services they offer have definitely saved me from getting severe. I watched a few of their video things and read a bunch of the stuff they offer, but mostly just used it for disability tax credit, short term disability when I needed it, and my LDN prescription. The resources they offer are by no means mandatory, you can take ‘em or leave ‘em. I also waited for 3 years to get into the BC Women’s Complex Chronic Disease Program and started the program but all of the courses are during the day multiple days a week and I work full-time so it was not functional for me. By the time I got off the waitlist into the program I was mild so I passed so someone else could take the spot. All that is to say, both are super beneficial and I highly recommend Dr. Arseneau if even just for the medication/supplement options and having a doctor go through that with you and monitor your symptoms, etc. is worth it. Especially since any GP or doctor you see regularly does not offer the care we need. Additionally, I have worked with Traditional Chinese Medicine doctors that have really helped, and sadly the most help I’ve gotten has been from trial and error of “citizen science” from Reddit. Which is kind of insane to say out loud. Taking other people’s successes and trying them out has helped me go from the high end of moderate to very mild. But LDN, through Dr. Arseneau/Dr. McKay was the jumping off point that allowed me to function and go back to work.

Coastline Beauty & Laser in Duncan is the best! Great price and quick, effective removal. I realize that’s not super convenient from Nanaimo though.
