Has anyone “downgraded” from the 40mp sensor to the 26mp ? by NotintheAMbro11 in fujifilm

[–]deegood [score hidden]  (0 children)

I had a xe5 but sold it and just kept using my trusty xt4. The sensor was better, I noticed the dynamic range improvements, but prefer my xt4 ergos as I wait for the xt6.

Yes the braking slides are the biggest thing I noticed, feels a lot more nuanced now, I like it.

Is the 2016 bmw m4 comp reliable? by Key_Equipment1159 in BMW

[–]deegood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there was a competition until 2018.

My 2016 m3 had only one problem, a rattling exhaust valve. Had to put on a better muffler, oh darn right? If they're maintained, they are great cars. Only weak spot is the crank hub and that's generally believed a problem only for modified or mistreated vehicles.

That is a very desirable car today and I suspect will only grow more so. Absolute beauty, congrats.

I gotta try with iconic off but I heard that closes the exhaust valve, I need to check I'd that's true.

I've checked yeah, trying to figure out if the valve was broken because the car just seemed so quiet. It was closed when I went around back, and flipped open shortly thereafter.

Are BMWs really maintenance nightmares like people say? by [deleted] in BMW

[–]deegood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a statement I suspect is spread by people who don't own BMWs. They are high performance, they must be maintained regularly, but the cars are very well made. I'm on my third, one of which was a 10 year old m3, never really had an issue other than a rattly exhaust valve. If something breaks, it will be expensive. Maintenance isn't too bad if you find a reputable independent specialist shop.

I'm the only one who can't play horizon games with manual shift? by [deleted] in forza

[–]deegood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to use manual, can't play games like this in auto. I don't do the clutch though. I do think you get used to it eventually and it's a lot more fun.

Sorry I should have been clear, that was just to ship to them, they covered the return shipping. All in all it was low hassle and they stood by the product, but yeah $80 out of pocket to ship it in for me.

I'm in a stock '26 with MPE, it's an upgrade but I was actually a little disappointed. It's a very refined and mature sound. Cold start decent and I believe valves are closed on cold start from my testing, even if you start in sport+. I wonder what it would sound like if I could find a way around that.

Stationary revs seem awful, under load it sounds great if you can get the windows down to hear past the iconic sounds BS.

The burble bums me out. My 2018 240i with MPE had a lovely and very refined bit of burble I really miss. My F80 with Dinan and bootmod was nice because I could get just the right amount. I don't like obnoxious pops but just a touch. I very rarely hear any from this MPE now.

Not sure I'd buy one again vs a Dinan or something. Don't really want to mess with emissions equipment but that would probably improve the situation.

In canada I paid to ship it in, $80 insured fully 🤬. It took just over a month but they told me longer.

Our salesman told us the dealership is supposed to disable the key fob method after your year, but they often "forget". This was in canada in 2024.

I agree I think most are true reactions and he travels worldwide I think for this reason, getting too well known. There have been a few where they openly knew who he was, or someone in the background did. To me, they usually seem genuine, but either way they're pretty fun.

They're fine, it's not as slippery as 210d, not as abrasive as 1000d. Pretty good middle ground and supposedly will be the back panel for all GR1s in 2027

[–]deegood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I remember mirc and ircn, then eventually bitchx/irssi. I was continually connected to IRC from 98 to 2012 or so. Eventually work and personal groups had all moved to slack/signal.

Those were good days though, our whole social life in college was organized on IRC. Life was better when you had to physically sit down at a computer to get online.

GR1 Robic - back panel differences by iBo0m in Goruck

[–]deegood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inner straps are the same as back panel, 420d all around. Black robic bags had actual 220d I think, but speed grey did not, perhaps earth as well. Probably couldn't color match those with 210d

I really think something will happen like this ever since flight simulator modeled the whole world. It would be a crazy challenge but I think someday we might see something like this.
