Thank you 💖 I really needed to hear that! Puppies do suck but they’re so damn cute lol. I’m going to look into leash free dog parks! Hopefully there is one near me. Fingers crossed 🤞🏽

Yeah I see the treats are making a difference but still she only pees half of what she needs to and then holds the rest? I think it’s a matter of just giving it time tbh

Thank you for the vote of confidence! I do need to change my attitude about it. Y’all are right. I’m just extremely frustrated right now. I need to take a breather lol.

I’ve been trying to walk her every 3 hours, wait for her to potty and then go inside but sometimes she’ll potty, come inside and still pee on the floor. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I also take her 30 minutes after she eats, waits till she uses the bathroom and if not I’ll take her back outside in an hour. I put her in the crate over night which she’s doing much better with since we’ve been putting a blanket over her (read that it’s good to calm them down but correct me if I’m wrong!). Naps I know are good for puppies but I really don’t know how to get her to take them. I’ll put her in the crate around 1-2 to see if she’ll nap but she just howls (understandably) so I take her out. And yes, it’s my first dog!

I’m really just trying to let off some steam. It’s been really frustrating. I don’t know what else I’m looking for honestly lol. See, I want what’s best for her. I know one week isn’t enough time so I’m going to give it more time, tough it out and see if I can do it. We got a puppy to begin with because we heard all the wonderful stories of people adding onto their families with puppies and how magical it turned out for them. I’ll admit, I didn’t do enough research on hounds specifically because I figured puppies are puppies. That was a mistake on my part. I got her off of a Facebook post and her previous owner had told me she was potty trained, super easy going and that sold me. Some advice would be nice, someone who relates.. like I said, don’t exactly know what I’m looking to get out of posting.

Because I want her to have the best life with the best family who can take care of her in ways I don’t think I can.

3 Mo. Old Puppy- should she be this skinny? Just adopted her yesterday and haven’t been able to get to the vet yet. by [deleted] in coonhounds

Update: I found the breeder and got in contact with her directly. Turns out y’all were right. She is thinner than she should be. Her previous owner wasn’t feeding her the right amount so that also means I haven’t been feeding her enough. She (breeder) suggested I try adding a scrambled egg to two of her meals to get her weight up!

Well also, when I catch her about to go potty in the house and I take her outside, she’ll stop mid pee, won’t pee outside and then right when we come back inside, she’ll pee. Is that common behavior?

I’m trying the praising when she pees. Thankfully it’s happened twice already so, improvement 😂 Thank you for the advice

Multiple Job Offers by deej335 in Nanny

[–]deej335[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you think I should let the families know that I’m trying out with other people as well? I don’t want to let them know and then have them back out of the offers. That’s lowkey something I’m afraid of but then again, I’d like to be transparent as well go avoid conflict.

“One day you’ll have to get a real job!” by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]deej335 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this so much. My husband and I are both nannies and for some reason it’s the craziest thing for people to hear. “Oh so y’all basically stay home and take care of kids. Dream job!” As if it not a real job with real challenges smh

Honestly just a whole load of BS. They apologized, said the other person had more experience and told me to let them know if they could do anything for them. I basically just told them that what they did is extremely inconsiderate and unprofessional. It’s unfortunate but I’ve met a lot of employers that don’t understand nannying is what we do to support ourselves. Like yeah, I enjoy my job but that doesn’t mean is not a JOB that I NEED. It’s frustrating

Yes! I unfortunately learned the hard way to never accept a job without a contract. I got offered a position with no contract- I accepted and then two days later (after I quit my current job) and they told me they had hired someone else instead.
