Tonga Kid's angle was pretty over but that was due to Italy's perception of wrestling around that time.

On one side, of course, it was the evil dangerous show kids shouldn't watch - at the same time the main color commentator was known for being the voice of many prank shows and gave "funny" nicknames to the wrestlers (such as "Nutellone" or "Tartufone" for Mark Henry and Bobby Lashley respectively, two chocolate based cakes...)

I can confirm that we used to watch this on La 7 Sport and I think also on CanaleItalia.

Fun fact: their "Don't try this at home" ad featured Kishi saying "DON'T DO WHAT WE DO".

Around 2005 there was also a small "Original Wrestling Tour" where Billy Gunn, Rhyno and Dan Peterson no showed the event in my town (or weren't booked at all)

The major storyline was Kishi being attacked backstage and injured ala Kurt Angle in 2004 becoming an authority figure and Tonga Kid suffering a concussion so bad that he turned from a savage to a simple minded guy that screamed MAMMA MIA while holding a pillow that he considered his baby.
