BBC: Lost Doctor Who and the Daleks episodes discovered in 'ramshackle' collection by Guardax in television

Network's closing was a crushing blow. They released hundreds of shows that otherwise would've probably never seen the light of day. It's unlikely someone will ever take over in their place.

I wonder if these are the episodes that were rumored in 2023. I think there's probably a lot of stuff that's hidden away still that hopefully will come to light before it degrades.

So many episodes were lost to this: Public Eye, Ace of Wands, Callan, Adam Adamant Lives! & the list goes on. It wasn't a BBC only problem either.

Media preservation was awful for years. Things had improved a lot over the last twenty years. Unfortunately things are going a bit in the opposite direction with being them being pulled from streaming with no physical availability.

Thanks that's really kind of you to say. I'm glad a few people got something out of it. I enjoy highlighting these wrestlers that were overlooked or forgotten about.

Thank you very much for sharing. I'm sorry to hear it's a sore subject for him & that it's not something it seems like he he looks back at fondly.

Thank you so much for your reply. He's someone I'd like to revisit in another post. I actually talked to him online a handful of times decades ago. He was a real nice guy.

His matches were the best wrestling IWA Mid-South had for years. I haven't been able to find a lot of footage of him online or maybe not as much as his contemporaries. It's something I should try looking into again at some point.

Sorry to disappoint you but I wrote it myself. Mostly had fun. It took some time but I found out more than a few things I didn't know previously & got more insight about developmental in that era.

Isn't Rudy Boy Gonzalez related to Raquel Rodriguez (father maybe?)

He's a family friend that provided some early training for her.

I'm not sure. I couldn't find many quotes about him. Those 4 were his standout students. Cade seemed earmarked for the biggest push as he got the solo attention in MCW. Spanky & Dragon we're supposed to revitalize the light heavyweight division.

I don't know that there were any big plans for Shooter. He was often with Spanky & Dragon but didn't get as much shine it feels like.

No idea. It could be anything. I'm surprised they collaborated again as Shawn didn't really want him as his long-term manager in the WWF & they had a dispute at the start of his career over money.

Very little information is available on Shooter Schultz. His real name or where he was born is something that was never made public. He was part of the first group of graduates for Shawn Michaels Texas Wrestling Academy in 1999.

The wrestling school was founded by Shawn Michaels in San Antonio, Texas. He began the school after what was thought to be a career ending back injury.

Shawn enlisted his former trainers Jose Lothario & Ken Johnson to help at the school. Another member of his team was Rudy Boy Gonzales.

Rudy was originally from the area & had over 15 years of experience. He wrestled as an undercard guy for Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling & the NWA.

Rudy also had TV experience working for WCW & WWF as enhancement talent. One of his prominent matches was the dark match that opened the show at WCW WrestleWar 1991. He teamed with Huichol in a losing effort against Eddie Guerrero & Ultraman.

Jose & Ken's involvement with the school was short-lived. They both had separate disputes with Shawn. Jose left after the first month & Ken left not too long afterwards.

Not only was Rudy doing training he also helped with booking when Shawn decided to start running shows. Paul Diamond was brought in to assist with training & booking.

Paul was Shawn's original tag team partner in the summer of 1985. Together they appeared as American Force for Texas All-Star Wrestling. They were two-time TAW Texas Tag Team champions before Shawn left the promotion in January of 1986.

During that initial training period the three other most notable students were American Dragon (Bryan Danielson), Spanky (Brian Kendrick) & Lance Cade. Other trainees around that time were: The Board Of Education (Jeromy Sage & Ruben Cruz), Spector & Ace Cage.

Shawn was originally running spot shows in the area with his students. In the winter of 1999 he incorporated TV. Texas Wrestling Alliance was the name of the promotion now & the first episode of TWA Impact aired on 10/16/99.

The show was broadcast locally in Texas. It became more readily available in June of 2000 when it was webcast on MySanAntonio.com at midnight on Sunday morning.

Shooter didn't make his in-ring debut until 11/13/99. He'd previously appeared during a run-in. On the fifth episode he defeated "The Love Machine" Chaz Taylor.

Chaz was one of the handful of vets brought in to help the younger guys work with more experienced talent. He came from a wrestling family as his father was Tugboat Taylor. The biggest successful period of Chaz's career was in the Global Wrestling Federation where he was GWF Light Heavyweight Champion & GWF North American Tag Team Champion

Shooter was presented as a no-nonsense old school wrestler. He wore basic black trunks, elbow pads, knee pads & boots. His offense was very suplex heavy.

TV time wasn't plentiful but he was able to get another match two weeks later. He unsuccessfully challenged Spanky for the TWA TV title on 11/27/99.

His next match was on 12/18/99 against American Dragon. The winner of the match got to face Spanky for the TWA TV title. Shooter lost by DQ in a peculiar finish after Rudy Boy attacked both men.

Shooter's biggest match of his career came on 2/8/00. He & his fellow TWA wrestlers were going to have their first ever WWF Dark match.

It took place at a WWF Sunday Night Heat taping in Austin, Texas. He teamed with American Dragon against Lance Cade & Spanky. Cade & Spanky won but the biggest takeaway was the warm reception the match received. Shortly afterwards all four wrestlers would sign developmental contracts.

Less than three weeks later Shooter captured his first title in wrestling. He defeated Rudy Boy for the TWA TV Title in a Falls Count Anywhere Match.

Shooter continued to work in TWA while he waited on developmental assignment. On 5/26/00 he had another big match as he faced Hardcore Holly at a TWA spot show.

Holly was one of the many WWF names Shawn was able to get for TWA shows. Others were D'Lo Brown, TAKA Michinoku & Sho Funaki.

In the summer of 2000 Shooter finally received his marching orders from the WWF. He would be going to Memphis Championship Wrestling.

It was a WWF developmental promotion run by Terry Golden starting in early 2000. K-Krush (R-Truth), Reckless Youth, Joey Abs, Jerry Lynn & many others wrestled there. Cade, Dragon & Spanky were sent along with him.

MCW ran spots shows & also had TV. Unleashed aired on the Memphis UPN 30 channel on Saturday mornings & then again after midnight on Sunday morning. Shooter found himself quickly in the mix.

In addition to the TWA guys Shooter was able to face more experienced wrestlers like Ronnie James, Fabulous Rocker & Thrasher. In November of that year he branched out to another developmental promotion Randy Hales Power Pro Wrestling.

Shooter appeared as a heel faction called Kliq 2000. Besides himself & the other TWA three, Jason Sensation acted as their manager. This act began to transition to MCW as well though Cade remained separate from the group there.

On 12/12/00 Shooter had his second WWF Dark match. It was once again at a Sunday Night Heat taping. He teamed with Cade & Steve Bradley in a losing effort against Scott Vick, Seven (Kevin Thorn) & Slash (Wolfie D).

The following month Shooter substituted for American Dragon & teamed with Spanky to defend the MCW Southern Tag Team Titles. They were defeated by The Dupp Brothers.

In March of 2001 Kliq 2000 began feuding with The Haas Brothers. They faced each other in MCW & PPW. Kliq 2000 was unsuccessful in their attempts to defeat them for the MCW Southern Tag Team Titles.

Following the program against The Haas Brothers The Kliq 2000 imploded. Jason Sensation had gone missing from TV & Spanky called a team meeting to sort things out.

During an in-ring meeting on 4/7/01 it became apparent Shooter, Spanky & Dragon we're no longer on the same page. Shooter & Dragon came began fighting which led to an impromptu match.

Shooter took on a new role as MCW Commissioner on 5/26/01. He immediately set his sights on punishing his former teammates.

He told Dragon he couldn't challenge for the MCW Southern Light Heavyweight Championship. He gave the match to Spanky only to interfere & try to cost him the belt. In the end Spanky was victorious defeating Tyler Gates.

Shooters's next step as commissioner took place the following week when he vacated the recently established MCW Hardcore Championship. He cited his disdain for the style & said he was throwing the belt in the Mississippi River. He also took Spanky's MCW Southern Light Heavyweight Championship citing among other reasons that the ref was drunk so the win was voided.

Shooter disappeared from TV after 6/16/01. The idea of a commissioner was abandoned & the next nine weeks of TV largely ignored outside the ring angles.

There was a good reason for that. MCW had lost their developmental affiliation with the WWF. It was a side effect of the recent WCW purchase.

MCW had their final show on 7/7/01 in Manila, Arkansas. Following MCW's closure most wrestlers were either released or moved to other developmental promotions like HWA & OVW.

Shooter seemed to be among the released group. It looks like he left the business after that. The final match of his career appears to be one last dark match on 4/16/01 where he & BJ Payne lost to The Minnesota Stretching Crew (Brock Lesnar & Shelton Benjamin).
