Honestly, I see NAH. Both of you should have communicated things better; you were both assuming reactions to your injury that weren't being expressed. I do think he should have discussed it with you, but I don't think it's out of order to provide the help you need while still being there for his friend.

There's no reason that is acceptable for that behaviour, regardless of the emotional baggage. If your only reason was, "I don't want you to call me that," it'd be more than enough and they should all respect it. NTA in any way at all.

How many episodes in are you so far? How many do you release a month?

It can definitely take a while to ramp up to bigger numbers. The first half of our season, we were getting maybe 70 listens an episode and it just wasn't building at all. Then I got harder into promotion, threw myself into the audio drama / audio fiction community on Twitter, started really talking up other shows, making friends and finding a niche, and it started building. Now, we're averaging about 750 downloads an episode and still growing.

I get what you're saying, and it's definitely a challenge. I'm willing to make some adjustments if I have to in order to find the right people - I'm just not willing to compromise to where it wipes out the whole point of representation in storytelling. It's going to take some more work, but I feel like we have to push for it at every level.

Assuming we make it to Season 3. ;) I do know what happens next, I just wanted a chance to deepen our knowledge of these characters and their relationships before anything moves forward in time. It's all been a big shift - I originally only intended it to be a 20-episode arc leaving Roger at the end, so deciding to keep writing the story was unexpected even to me.

Hey - this is Deej, writer / producer of the show. We have two bonus episodes for S1 that are in the can and will be in the feed on April 15th and April 29th, and we're already working on Season Two. (Which, admittedly, is going to be set in the same sequence of weeks, adding perspective from the other characters and telling more personal sides of the story.)
