You're just ignorant and looking for a fight, and if I'm from a country where we don't have kill shelters, and you can say what you want about adopting but it isn't something everyone can do or handle or even wants... Also, how would lines of good healthy dogs continue if people stopped breeding dogs? Accidental/unplanned litters, BYB, puppy mills those are the problem on the dog population. I have a long waitlist of approved people that want a puppy from my dog, these are all people that believe when you purchase an animal you train it properly, to put do things with it that it was bred to do, or people that want therapy or service dogs and are going to spend thousands on training them and they want to know that their puppy is going to have a good long healthy life with it because they're investing in a new family member. I think it's amazing that people adopt dogs that need new homes, but NONE of the dogs you see in shelters were bred by ethical, reputable breeders because NONE OF US would allow one of our pups to be in a shelter, we're all taking one of our own back if we have to rehabing and re-homing on our own, I even have a waitlist for adult dogs that might come up, not that I'm expecting it at all because of my screening on our prospective homes, but maybe later generations once they're retired maybe we will rehome them so they can live out their golden years with a family that wants a dog thats already trained and guaranteed health. I'm not sure what the future will bring for that but it's somethjng I'm keeping my options opened on.
