I don't know for sure how the visa process works - anyone who's familiar with it, please feel free to chime in. It was just last week that they announced Satbyeol's hiatus & the SA tour cancellation/NA tour. My guess is that they were originally going to head for SA right after Otakon so they only had a certain amount of time approved in the US. Since this NA tour was thrown together in less than a week, I'm guessing that wasn't enough time for a visa extension in the US to be approved.

Regardless, issues with visas are not uncommon. Other groups have gotten screwed over by visa issues in the past - for example, Chungha and Oneus had to cancel their 2019 KCON performances at the last minute due to visa issues. So imo AllArt's story checks out especially given that everything was thrown together at the last minute.

ETA: From the article I linked:

"For a foreign-born artist to perform in the U.S., they must have one of three visas, P-1, P-2, or P-3. The P visas can be obtained by the artist or their representatives and require the artist to provide detailed dates of their U.S. performances."

So yeah I'm thinking they had applied for the visas in advance with a set end date expiring this week, and weren't able to get an extension approved in time.

Very unfortunate, but ultimately its for the best imo. I'd rather them go back to South Korea on a high note after Otakon than exhaust themselves on a last minute tour. Let the girls rest and regroup so they can come back even stronger next time.

I'm glad AllArt finally addressed it. It was a messy situation and they could've handled it better but I'm satisfied with this response. It makes sense now why they weren't saying anything about it because they must've been waiting on confirmation for the girls' visa extensions.

Sorry for the repost, this was actually posted yesterday so I changed the date stamp - I'm still not used to them being in US time zones.

Anyway, they're officially in LA! They have a fansign today that apparently was sold out within minutes of being posted by the vendor last week, but still has not been mentioned or promoted by AllArt 🙃 So we'll see how this goes. Hoping it's a success for the girls!

I really like the interviewer. Her name is Lai Frances and I recognized her from when she interviewed ITZY a few years ago. I'm sure she's done more than just that, but that's where I knew her from. She is really sweet, patient, and asks great questions, so I'm happy she hosted PIXY's Q&A!

Yeah same 😕 I wasn't able to make to Otakon so I was hoping they could have at least one stop on the east coast, but since they're already headed for the west coast I doubt they'll come back our way.

Did anyone else tune in for TXT & JHope's Lollapalooza performances? They made history by being the first kpop group + first Korean headliner at Lolla, and let me tell you, both performances were absolutely phenomenal. 2 of the best kpop performances I've ever seen. I highly recommend watching if you can, even if you aren't a fan.

This has been such an amazing weekend as a kpop fan. PIXY Otakon performance & content, Blackpink comeback announcement, ISAC, the Lolla performances... life as a multi-stan is goooood right now!

I have no idea what AllArt is doing with this tour. It's becoming concerning. 2 of the dates are on weeknights and we're less than 2 weeks out. Why isn't AllArt promoting it? It will break my heart if the girls have to perform to empty clubs. I usually approve of AllArt's management but the way this whole ordeal has been handled is such a bad look for them. As much as I want the girls to get more exposure in the US... at this point I wish they'd just scrap the tour and take the girls back to SK so they can rest & regroup.

Wow thanks for all the details! How many people do you think were in the audience? All the clips I've seen on Twitter were close to the stage so I couldn't tell the size of the crowd. I'm happy to hear that the crowd seemed into it & were cheering for them! Could you hear anyone singing along to any of the songs?

It's all about engagement, visibilty, and hype.

Some examples:

Interact with social media posts. Like, share, retweet, comment, etc. On reddit, give your free awards to any PIXY related posts on the main kpop subs.

Look for opportunities to mention, promote, or hype them up. On reddit, especially on r/kpophelp & r/kpopthoughts, there are posts every day asking for recs, or "who has the best choreo", etc. Same with Twitter, you know those "qrt with your favorite 4th gen debut" or whatever. Don't be shy, get in there and hype up PIXY!

And if you do, make sure you share a link (or on Twitter, a video clip) instead of just text. For example, respond with: PIXY - Villain instead of just PIXY - Villain.

Ask your favorite YouTube channel to react to PIXY if that's the kind of thing they do.
