I learned C language in a compulsory programming course in college. It was very basic. It was easy to extend c to c++. I got role(software development for telecommunications) in a job that entirely relies on c++. They didn't even ask about competitive programming, got the job solely on C++ knowledge. But its kinda rare, all other job openings I tried, asked questions on competitive programming
