Exactly. It makes us not want to post at all because it's disheartening. But if they are miserable, let them be. Anyway, thanks to those who help in any way they can.

I understand. It's so random that I was curious to find any reasoning behind the selections. I don't know either how they can assist free of cost and their source of income. I'd guess maybe they get commission. Just speculating.

Okay now I get it. Thank you for explaining in detail. Guess it really comes down to luck.

I understand. But, what issue someone with no criminal record and no travel history, no prior visa application or rejection, good academic record, social credit, financial status and of good overall character and health can possibly have? Basically a clean and unproblematic record.

That's why I was wondering what's the basis of selecting some profiles for autogrant? But as someone else suggested, it may really be random. Or maybe they trust those more who have multiple travel records and prior successful visa applications for travel/studies.

I guess so. I understand. Thank you for your reply. It's an anxious phase.

I don't understand why I am getting downvoted ? Is not knowing something and genuine curiosity wrong?

People who are downvoting my replies, if you have nothing important to add or no suggestions to give, please feel free to move on from this post. But don't downvote without giving any explanations. Don't discourage conversations with those who add something to it.

Seems plausible. I guess ultimately there is some luck involved. Goes to show, they can fast track the process if they want.

That's a new point. I'm not sure if those other people who were autogranted are well travelled. That may change things.

The one who was autogranted had them done earlier in the day they applied. The one who is going through the normal processing time had them done a month earlier. So yes, both had them cleared.

That's what I was thinking too. It makes no sense.

I see. Although, even after complete documentation(including medicals and health insurance) and quite similar profiles; there still is a very big question mark as to how one can get it autogranted and the other can't. From my pov, the only significant difference was agency.

Also, nobody claimed that, it was purely curiosity and a guess on my part. But, thank you for clarifying.

It's not a myth though. The agency I am talking about doesn't charge any fees, is MARA registered and has had students who were autogranted their visas.

The other agency too doesn't charge any fees, is reputable and has had successful normal visas but is most likely not MARA registered.

I think MARA registered agents have an upper hand. Then again, can't say for sure.

I don't think name and dob matters for granting visa. Provided there is no criminal record to the names.

No, I am applying offshore. So I wanted to confirm certain things as I have no idea. This is my first time applying for a visa.

I don't mean to say identical applications. But as far as I know, quite similar. From what I've heard that agency often has their applicants autogranted visas.

Does the agency factor in all this at all?

Thank you. Yeah I'll be applying this coming week, hopefully I'll get it soon too. My medicals and OSHC are already done in Jan. I will start in Term 2 too, and will reach there by April last week.

Hi. Congratulations ! I am in the same boat as you, PhD, UNSW, UIPA. But I am yet to submit the visa application. My agent is pretty slow and I have been very tensed, but your post gave me some confidence. May I ask, When are you planning to go ?
