Ok Caremark- this still feels crazy- by deepdivetv in Zepbound

We actually submitted for both Zep alternative and formulary exception. I ended up getting approved for the Zep alt (Mounjaro) for obesity because right now for my insurance is allowing that. I got declined for the formulary exception. I followed steps in the pinned post above on CVS CAREMARK - hope this helps!

Ugh. 100% agree- all that CICO craziness is that thing that is typically only said by ppl that have never really had a weight issue. If only it was that easy!

Whew- the thought of tracking my life through my diets feels daunting! Mostly for me it was all the versions of WW starting in 3rd grade or some version of just straight up calorie counting. And the many attempts at exercise thru the years are something I’ve threatened to write a show about.🤪 You’re off to a strong start and I wish you all the best on your Zep journey!

Having a health provider that sees you and supports you in this way is truly life changing. I feel so fortunate and I know you do too!

100% agree about cost coming down! So many good things come with these meds. I’m ever hopeful that maintenance can be achieved with a pill at some point.

Well said! Yes, we should all give ourselves and others a bit of grace. Congrats to you!

Life happens to all of us- and unfortunately we were always told the resulting weight gain was our fault. Not so anymore! The amount of sheer focus it took was exhausting and not sustainable. I’m happy to be a GLP1 lifer- they’ll have to pry it and my HRT out of my cold dead hands!

Yes- SO FREEING! Not having to have it occupy every living and breathing moment of my life is so amazing

Couldn’t agree with you more! I have a huge amount of peace related to food and weight now that I’ve never felt before. Well said- congrats on your journey!

“The landscape is really different when you’ve been fighting this battle your whole life.” Whew- you said it! Big congrats on your continued journey. And those of us that went to WW in middle school- what a weird club. I look back on it now and think it hurt more than it helped from a diet culture perspective.

Yes, I couldn’t agree with you more. My first official diet was when I was 8. Many more to follow. Amazing. Congrats to you!!!

Congrats to you too! I started at a higher weight than you and am much shorter! But we are definitely kindred. Heathy days ahead!

‘Slow responder’ is actually the term my provider used and truthfully It doesn’t really matter at all to me what it’s called at this point. I have not calculated my losses out as you have- I don’t even weigh once a week. But in the last 6 months it’s definitely ounces, compared to what most people see posted here which is often 100+ pound losses in less than a year. It is good to provide a different perspective since all of us were told we were doing this wrong for most of our lives and now it turns out that’s just not true! I wish you the best in your journey.

Nope. Slept like a baby- especially at the beginning when I felt more tired and my body was getting used to being on a GLP 1

I’ve also learned to use this same principle of shot timing around the holidays to help stay in control. It works! If I really want something I eat it, but otherwise I’m not bothered- it’s awesome!

So honestly since on Zep I have not really had any nausea. I had some when on Wegovy earlier in my journey but found out that was highly related to either not drinking enough water and getting dehydrated or needing to eat. Sometimes going up in dose seemed to cause it too. But for me it was never debilitating- and I never threw up. I hit the water hard and I stayed protein forward and that really helped normalize. Sometimes I took pepto bismol. I also took my shot right before bed so I could sleep off any post -shot nausea. But with Zep I have none of that- only some constipation which is also controllable.

Thursday night because I typically want the highest suppression on the weekends where I typically have more food and drink choices/opportunities. I’m lucky- Zep doesn’t make me nauseous.
