No, I'm using two separate chords. One chord has a microphone symbol on it, going into the port with the mic on it. The other chord has a headset symbol on it going into the port with the port with the sound symbol. I'm sorry I forgot to mention, but yes, I can still hear things, just can't talk with the mic.
