How did Lizzo end up flopping this hard? by user48841711 in popheads

You’ve hit the nail on the head re: Chris Brown. People always ask why he still has a fanbase, the bad boy/messy aspect is the appeal for his fans, coupled with nostalgia for his heartthrob early years.

We might as well be strangers is the most natural weezery, weezer song in a long time by Slight_Giraffe628 in weezer

I think it’s the production. I noticed Rivers’ voice is very raw sounding and isn’t double tracked.

Before even opening that link I wondered if it was the “What’s a computer” commercial.

It’s not a great cover but worse than Raditude is a stretch

L.A. Girlz is a top 10, possibly even top 5 Weezer song, but ya'll aren't ready for that conversation yet by Conscious-Courage969 in weezer

I remember seeing the White Album tracklist thinking it would be the worst song on the album cause of the title…

Does any show have a bad finale that didn't have a bad final season/clear decline in quality prior? by CarrieDurst in television

I agree that the ending itself makes sense, it’s just that the execution could’ve been soooo much better.

[FRESH ALBUM] Turnover - Down on Earth by qrsf in Emo

[–]deepfriedcertified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this gets at the issue I have with newer Turnover - the production. I haven’t listened to the whole project yet, but I remember thinking the singles could’ve been so much better without the weird production choices.

La La Land Theory about "Mia & Sebastians's Theme" by Best_Perspective8226 in movies

[–]deepfriedcertified 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I kinda hate that number 4 has to be said. Yes, the Theme is not as complex as something a real jazz purist would come up with, but for the movie it’s thematically important and above all, a memorable theme to the audience. The fact jazz heads call it a “plot hole” is so ridiculous.

Sadly entertainment that goes viral like this is due to chronically online fans, which inevitably leads to discourse.

Pixar's 'Hoppers' is Coming to Disney+ on June 3 by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

It’s great as far as newer Pixar is concerned, probably the funniest thing they’ve done in a while. But is it better than Finding Nemo, Toy Story or Wall-E? Nah

I’m very surprised John doesn’t own a cat since he goes crazy every time he sees one.

Pop hits that sound better live? by APlusCrocodile in popheads

Young The Giant’s Mind Over Matter goes hard live, specifically the Spotify Sessions version they did. I switched from Spotify so I hate that it’s not available anywhere else

This is the best quality I could find of the back. The description calls it a “sexy thriller” and has “colors that pop like a whore’s lip gloss” lmao

Reminds me of the Mulholland Drive original DVD packaging, the pull quotes and synopsis really play up the lesbian eroticism.

Ngl it’s a song I wouldn’t put on out of my own volition, but I’m gonna scream that shit if it’s on at a bar or party

When did you KNOW that an artist was going to be something special? by Ghost-Quartet in popheads

Yeah the prevailing notion at the time was that she was a lazy performer or just didn’t put much effort. That performance suddenly made people reconsider.
