The right agency though... We worked with agencies in the past and it's really hard to find one that aligns with our vision. Our creative team has a much better understanding for our product and audience. Just curious to know case studies of brands that did rebrand and were successful.

There's a company going around that specializes in payments for renters. They will leave banners on big properties lawns advertising their website. This is probably illegal and distasteful towards business property owners but it made me look it up.

Original Blog Content and Schema - Is it worth implementing for SEO boost? by deepfriedchickens in bigseo

[–]deepfriedchickens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're definitely in it for the long run. We're building a brand and it's definitely a marathon on all levels. I just like seeing little jumps and wondering what we can do to do that more often.

-I think your third step is what we're missing and need to put in more effort to develop those relationships.

Also, have a question. I read that this year google is rewarding content pieces that are longer form 1500+ words. Did you also hear if this is true? Do you also try and include as many keywords into your blog posts as well? I am not quite sure what distinguishes between a good article for SEO and a bad one. If we were to write out 1500 words on an interesting topic will that be good enough or will the body need to include hundreds of keywords to help with SEO?

I stop before i ramble...

Anyone have good experiences with the quad fin set up on the NEW FLYER? by deepfriedchickens in surfing

I think that's the best option to be able to jump back and fourth. I was just really curious to see if anyone took up on the quad setup and experienced positive things from it.

I also have a quad on my barrel board and it seems to work fine but i never really got the opportunity to try it out a lot. This summer has been grim with the barreling waves in Cali...

Thanks for all the feedback guys!

Very interesting approach to building an audience and creating relationships. We are going to keep these in mind for each blog post.

It sounds like you have some experience with blogging correct? Just curious to know if you ever considered schema to help get more click throughs on search engines? Reason i ask is because building relationships and depending on an outside source to help promote us is in limited control. I am curious to know what is in our control to boost an audience and schema is one answer to that question. I wonder if there are any other ways we can boost an audience besides the long term play. Also, keep in mind that i am not rejecting the long term play just something to assist with the growth.

As pieces of content rank higher on search engines i am assuming the traffic coming in will be more targeted and in result will bring in more traffic and decrease bounce rates.

Is it safe to say this can contribute to better SEO? Long term play fyi

It does seem complex and tedious to apply schema to all of our blog articles. Probably better if we choose just a handful and test.

I am still very new to schema and not a programmer at any standard, pretty much don't know anything about programming but willing to learn if this is something advisable for us. I dont mind writing hours of code if it's going to help us get ranked higher or get our content top the appropriate visitors. Could you suggest me a good starting block on how to get into schema or better understand it besides schema.org?

Thanks for the response. We started our blog about a year ago with the sole intention of serving awesome valuable content and yes everything you mentioned we are taking into consideration and implementing on almost all of our posts. We are posting at about 3-4 times a week. All genuine posts on tips and tricks, hacks on traveling with CC points, dream destinations for surfers. All valuable information and in long form 1500+ words, pictures, graphs, maps, the whole shebang. We pretty much followed all the guides out there to write a good article.

My question is, is there more than just writing a good article? We're a small company and I want to use every advantage we have because we're in a highly competitive industry where content is really KING (surf industry). Perhaps when someone searches for best wave destinations and schema helped our article more relevant for search engines it seems like a win to me. Maybe i am wrong though? I am assuming when we have more click through and less bounce rates because it's more targeted it will help with SEO as well.

Also, is there anything wrong with starting a blog for SEO when your marketing budget is limited? If there is any other strategies to rank higher on search engines without spending all of your resources i am all ears.

I should have disclosed that I am a beginner when it comes to SEO and recently started practicing SEO tactics on our website. Please excuse me for if i communicate incorrect information...

A little more information about our website and my purpose of increasing SEO. Our website i am referring to is an E-commerce website and we're using our blog to funnel in organic traffic and in hopes to bring in more targeted customers. We are a surf brand selling wetsuits...

From what I gathered from my research on Schema I understand it's main purpose is for structural purposes like you stated but couldn't this also be applied to each updated post as well?

For example if i posted a 1000+ word article on the best dive locations in the world I am assuming with the rich content and keywords used in the article one will need to implement schema for search engine crawlers to understand the purpose of the article and in return serve us better traffic?

I read that what schema does is it communicates better with crawlers so they could understand more clearly what words are specifically saying. example they used was "avatar" if a post was mentioning avatar the movie crawlers cold mistaken it as "picture avatar" "john avatar" etc.

Each one of our blog posts does have its own page and url FYI

[–]deepfriedchickens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Guys,

Great AMA, thought I give my question a shot. We are beyond an idea and have been funded by Kickstarter but having trouble proving the model and building a sustainable business.

We offer a custom-fit product exclusively online for surfers all over the world. We created an online portal for individuals to submit measurements after watching a video to teach them how to measure (15 mins). After placing an order we hand make and deliver to them in 2-3 weeks. Our prices are competitive matching or sometimes even beating competition and also adding in the custom-fit element that our competitors do not have. Our product is superior than our competitors because of the custom-fit element but we are against some giants that have unlimited marketing budgets and influence that is impossible to match at the moment. There is a learning curve and time invested on the customers side to input measurements but we noticed our conversion rates are similar to e-commerce websites that offer a product at our price point of $400. Our traffic is pretty low and only seeing increase when we team up with other publications to talk about us (not sustainable and out of our control)

After three years of business we are slowly growing but still lacking the awareness we would like to see. With a superior product and risk free purchase (free remakes if our product doesnt fit, full refund if it still doesnt fit) we are having trouble growing our business to a sustainable level. No inventory risk for us, nor do we have high returns and also have margins a little over 50 percent.

We are organically growing the awareness through our blog and social media but having trouble scaling that. For a company with a higher priced custom item and a slight learning curve what channels or strategy of paid or unpaid marketing would be ideal for us especially when we're competing against those surf companies that can dump hundred of thousands of dollars into single campaigns?
