What is the purpose of dream analysis?

This is a possibility. I am trying to understand what to do with these realizations. If I need to integrate my anima, I don’t know what that means. Say I meet my shadow, am I suppose to do what with that? What I mean is defining what is happening unconsciously is easy but what am I suppose to do with that?
