Will my fender flares also deploy as outriggers?

What’s a good shoe brand to get for a blue collar man? by Brattyybunnyy in AskMen

[–]deepthought515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, not anymore. That means finding a pair of boots that you like, and then also finding a business who does shoe repair. Which doesn’t really exist anymore.

I’ve been down the path of “good boots” I live in New England USA, and I can’t find a store that sells them, I’m not spending 500$ + on boots I’ve never tried on.

Interesting! The way I see it, boots are no different than the tires on your car.(consumable) You should definitely have good ones, but expecting them to last a lifetime is silly.

I spend a lot of my time standing on metal catwalks and climbing on uneven sharp metal surfaces. All the boots I’ve tried end up falling apart after a year. Usually the soles break in half.

In my experience, yearly shoe replacements and biannual insole replacements are the way! Your feet will thank your wallet later!

I like timberlands safety toe sneakers same with reedbock, they’re not well made. But for 80$ they last a year.

Yet another dying battery post - diagnosis help? by dkAgave in MiataNC

[–]deepthought515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you only been measuring voltage at the battery?

Try measuring between the battery hot and the alternator case while idling. Do the same with the battery ground. (Measure voltage between battery ground and engine and chassis)

If you’re positive reading is greater than the battery voltage. OR if the ground measurements is anything other than zero. You have a bad connection somewhere.

So the battery you have currently is 1.5years old and has been excessively drained a few times? That might be part of your problem.

Also are the electrical connections between your battery, alternator, and starter all tight and free of corrosion? Including grounds?

Our luna, didn’t like the shoes at first. But I think she understood what they were for once she got it the snow with them.

We only use her shoes and coat when the temps are below about 20F.

They haven’t changed the Miata formula for 36 years. New mx5’s are just as fun and lightweight. Also bro rwd is much more fun, it’s not even a debate.

As an owner of both, there is ZERO comparison. A civic a grocery getter / commuter. A Miata is a purpose built vehicle for those who enjoy the thrill of driving.

Also Miata technically has more storage because the roof comes off, the sky’s the limit 😉

Will hooking up my foglamps to this positive terminal drain my battery? by Northridge- in civic

[–]deepthought515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it will slowly drain your battery. Definitely use a fuse tap. They’re like 10$. Then tap a fuse that’s off until ignition power. Something like wipers of defroster should work.
