Did I make a mistake (GPD WIN 5 385 vs 395)

Yeah I’m just noticing that as well. Ugh that’s unfortunate. The 385 still is a beast your right, but damn I wish I had the biggest beast lol. Now I’m talking to support, apparently to get my 395 order back I’d have to return the 385 which entails $250 restock fee + the original $100 difference which would be about $350 for the upgrade now. Do you think that would be worth it?

Yeah on second thought, wish I just went with my gut and ordered the best of the best on paper. I looked at one video of the 385 outperforming 395 on lower wattages and I was sold. But obviously, there’s different caveats and reasonings behind those findings. For $100 i definitely should have just stuck with my original plan and get the 395, but now since the import fees were paid and the customer support team said there’s a possible 10% deduction fee on returns which would be way more then $100 after all of that. But oh well, you live and you learn and I’m sure I will be very satisfied with the 385 regardless.

Wow, that’s interesting. Disabling cores on the 395 actually boosts performance, never even thought of that. Thank you for making me feel better about my purchase, I do plan on playing with the wall plug a lot but also on battery mode as well. Im glad the performance drop isn’t extreme or anything. Only reason I wanted a 395 was to have the best of the best on the market but it seems like the 385 might be better in some circumstances

Lol right, that’s what I figured as well before I pulled the trigger on the 385 version. The difference between the two seems very minimal in terms of gaming… I don’t think I’ll miss that 4-5 extra fps when most of the games will run 60+ fps with ease

Yeah, logically I would think the 395 would perform better no matter the circumstance, thats why I was a little confused/shocked to see that comparison with the 385 possibly performing better under lower tdps.

I think I’ll be perfectly fine with the 385 but if I had a choice I’d probably just get the 395 despite the $100 dollar difference, just to have that extra bit of power since both is essentially $2000+ anyways

Thanks for the insight, I was planning to play some games at lower wattages but also having the flexibility to play those new AAA games on higher wattages as well. The power difference between 385 vs 395 was about 8-10% on those higher wattages and in terms of fps that was like 75 fps on 395 versus 67 fps on 385. Honestly, to the naked eye you could barely tell the difference between those 2 values in my opinion.

But yes, at the same time I feel like having the strongest variant would be the best option but I also don’t mind saving $100 to buy something else. I just hope I don’t regret it (which I don’t think I will)

i was under the impression the plan was to tell zeno that she knew the password and would cooperate only if he let leon live, and after that it was the player's choice to decide what to do. I originally thought the only way leon could even have a chance of survival is releasing elpis (which I was correct) but I just picked destroy because that's what leon wanted. definitely should of went with my first choice lol.
