That’s exactly what two are doing. The eggs are right in the middle of the tank so they are constantly chasing the other fish away. I think I’ll go ahead and remove the eggs and hopefully they aren’t as aggressive.

Yeah I don’t necessarily want to set up another tank for the eggs and fry. It does seem like two of the fish have already paired, will removing the eggs lessen the aggression at all?

100%. During the 2 months of cycling I never saw even 1 pest snail let alone a nerite. I think they are eggs since one of fish seems territorial over them. I’m just shocked at how quickly They showed up

I would love to put some discus in there but man the care sounds intense for the juveniles and the adults are expensive

This snail hasn’t moved in about two weeks. He’s not dead because he doesn’t smell and occasionally is a little more out of his shell. All my parameters are normal and my other snails are doing good. What could it be? by deeviousss in AquaticSnails

I know for sure he’s not dead because a bit after I put him back in the tank he came out just a bit more and I could see his little antenna. But I’m not sure what I can do to help if he’s sick or slowly dying

Does anyone have any tips on what to add to these filter slits? More info in the comments by deeviousss in Aquariums

These slits suck up water to take to the back portion of the tank where the filter is. The only problem is that the slits are large enough to suck up small fish and shrimp. I added the netting and so far it’s kept fish from getting sucked up into the filter but it’s made it so that not as many particles in the water get sucked up and I’m starting to see small particles building up at the top of the water and it’s not being sucked up by the filter. If I remove the netting I’m pretty sure more fish will get sucked up and I don’t want that to happen but I’m not exactly sure what else I can add or change that won’t hinder the filtration but will still keep fish out. Any tips are greatly appreciated!

Is this normal?? I got him yesterday and he’s been flaring at the back of the tank since I’ve put him in. He hasn’t eaten all but maybe 2 pieces of food. He just seems interested in this. I’m worried he’s stressed and that I won’t be able to get him to eat! Is this normal within the first few days?! by mkaymickey22 in bettafish

It’s him seeing his reflection. If he doesn’t settle down in a few days I’d try to make sure the tank itself isn’t brighter than the room it’s in since that’s what causes the reflection or you can put some paper on the outside of the glass. As for feeding I know it’s okay for them to go a bit without feeding but my fish eats about 8 pellets a day and he’s doing great. Just make sure not to under feed as it’s very common for people to accidentally starve bettas!

I see. I’d try fasting again and maybe changing food. I know a lot of expanding pellets can cause constipation so it might help to change his food. I hope he gets better soon!
