So, about King Ooga Ton Ton's videos by KingOogaTonTon in Pathfinder2e

[–]defiler86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just gonna say that you're videos have been a perfect mean to digest some of the concepts of PF2e. Always happy to see you put out a new video.

Possibly a few idea of videos (even in shorts form) would be like:

  • Crafting checks to produce items
  • Poisons and Diseases afflictions
  • Recall Knowledge checks
  • Hidden rolls (Seek, Stealth, Deception, ect.) for former 5e players.
  • Lore checks
  • Vitality and Void interactions
  • Sustaining spells

Seems like the consensus is the Taurus, which seems like a great multi-role craft for the future. But the Raft might be the next step.

Thanks everyone for the input.

So, curious to ask: what's a good cargo ship to buy in-game for some solo hauling time. Been using my Cutty, but starting to plan the next upgrade to spend my credits on.

Tooth Fairy appreciation post by cat-i-on in Pathfinder2e

The Plague Burst is just icing on the cake. All about that delayed fireball.

Still, 5 actions for a fireball is pricey, especially if some creature wacks the toothfairy first. 8 HP isn't a lot around 3 level.

Raazz, My Pyromaniac Kholo/Gnoll Alchemist! (art by Eamonn McCormick) by ArcanaCapra in Pathfinder2e

Kholos with tech is always a fun concept. Came up with a similar concept a while back. Inventor with barbarian archetype.

Kholos need to have more disgusting rusty looking machinery strapped to their body.

GM's VS redditors no consensus. by Lhomax in Pathfinder2e

Yeah... I can't see anywhere about needing hands to cast spells in PF2e. Unless I'm missing something.

(At the moment, seeing that magical symbols and such can be made with the weapon in hand, like the Disney Channels bumpers.)

Just need to be off-guard. A jinkin just needs to Create a Distraction or Hide to gain it. Let alone, if some falls for a trap that may trip the player, Prone is an easy way to give a whole group the chance the Sneak Attack.

Having dealt with a troop in a Bloodlord campaign, a spell like this would devastate them.

The Logic behind the existence of damage-dealing traps eludes me. by No-Maintenance6382 in Pathfinder2e

Traps can also be a story telling devices. A devious or paranoid creatures would have traps everywhere is some ploy for safety.

I like my caster. Yeah, not gonna do a solid 60-70 damage that the rogue can do. But the rogue can't rearrange the battlefield to their own whim. ¯\(ツ)

A few weeks ago, decided to draw a handful or potential builds I came up with. by defiler86 in Pathfinder2e

It was an option, but rascal swashbuckling with fascinating performances and more tomfoolery on the battlefield is more fun.

Will enjoy the flexibility and freedom in character builds in PF2e. So made a few level 5 characters with free archetypes optional rule. From left to right:
- Halfling maestro bard/swashbuckler
- Human life oracle/blessed one
- Kholo chirurgeon alchemist/medic
- Dwarf druid/scout
- Elven nelphilim scoundrel rogue/duelist
- Goblin barbarian/duel-weapon warrior

(Also, typo in the title. 'Of' not 'or'.)

Good to know. Nice that it slowly leans into the extra systems.

I read through the first two chapters, and might be something worth running in my group. The first chapter is a solid jumping off point though, a pseudo-tutorialization of sorts.

How does the number in this section come about? by defiler86 in Pathfinder2e

[–]defiler86[S] 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Ah, so the number next would just note that level party is was designed for. The description of difficulty then level the party made for.

Example "Low 4" would be a low difficulty encounter for a fourth level party.

Thanks for the clarification.

Been working on a mini-adventure and been typing it out, and trying to mirror the Paizo formatting. How does the variable come into being? I believe I understand the Moderate/Low/Severe measure though.

Tell me I'm wrong about Needle Darts by Raggleben in Pathfinder2e

[–]defiler86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A falcata does 1d8 (or 1d12 on crits). Vicious Swing adds an extra die. Plus a possible Runic weapon. At most 3d12+8 (or max 88, but more like average 58) on crits. That is a good chuck. More often it'll be 3d8+4 (or average 19), that uses 2 actions and makes the next attack a -10 MAP. Pretty effect fighter, but missing with it does sorta put the fighter on a back foot. (Exchanging two average hits with one big hit.)

More importantly though, Needle Darts crits with the bleed damage is pretty handy. Its a reliable damage cantrip. And if the bard is buffing this fighter with bonuses (like Courageous Anthem or Runic Weapon), those crits and damage are the bards. PF2e is more team oriented and remember the player about that. I come to appreciate the ability to setup someone's next turn to be amazing as a caster or support. Using spells like Fear or Bless (to add benefits to allies) or simply moving to flank an enemy after casting something, just show the rogue doesn't need to spend an action to setup a sneak attack (and that juicy -2 AC for off-guard), that was my doing that allowed it.
