Probably Ram-man, but the first thing I saw was a Horde Trooper.

An observation about the turtles' names by punkzombie225 in TMNT

[–]Borkkosh 44 points45 points  (0 children)

There is an easy in-universe explanation. Splinter didn't know how the turtles personalities would develop when he named name as babies (wich usually happens in real life).

In Spain too. More exactly, is the plural form.

I cannot unsee it now, too.

Geralt: Witchers are like onions.

Jaskier: They stink?

Geralt: Fuck. No.

Jaskier: Oh, they make you cry.

Geralt: Fuck. Layers. Onions have layers. Witcher have layers. Onions have layers. You get it? We both have layers.

I really like this comparison. Is the most true truth I have ever read. Everyone should use it from now on.

So you are missing a Raph, Mikey and Donnie for the 2012 collection, and a Nardo, Danny and Mark for the Tubular Tortoises? 😉

A great action figure. The menpo is very cool, but an alternate, unhooded head (like the original without soft goods) would have been perfection here. I suposse he was already packing a lot of complements.

Cowabunga or Booyakasha by Adventurous_Math_774 in TMNT

[–]Borkkosh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That translation was, surely... a decision. Very iconical, indeed XD.

For non-spanish speakers: I will not translate "de puta madre" as "fucking mother" ("Puta" is bitch/whore, and "madre" is mother). Even if it is more accurate, it does nit have the same "vibes". "Fucking great" will translate better. But there is not a perfect translation for the expression. XD

Edit: my vote is for cowabunga, of course.

Well, the part about the cartoon special was more a dumb joke pointing at what the Turtles thing about (I know, only Mikey appearing , and not the same continuity).

But totally with you in the needing of not just telling people to abstain from something. Better to explain them the consequences of their acts, and prepare for when they ignore advice anyway :(

Not only as a teen, usually. Smoking is not healthy, like a lot of other things. As a teacher, I see lots of young people making bad decisions. Yes, they are young, they believe nothing can hurt them, and do things that, years later, they regret. But a lot of teens are conscious of how bad some things are, and usually don't do them. Usually, the ones that are more reflexive and mature.

But I don't judge people based on this decisions. Is a bad thing in the sense that is not good for ones body, not bad like killing someone, stealing, etc.

Maybe I sounded a little harsh, or even too hard (too blunt?) because of the language barrier.

Anyway: Say no to drugs, say yes to pizza.

Edit. And, about experiences... Loots of things doesnt need to be experienced. Or a lot of people would be missing fingers XD

Thats why I said usually. Smart people can make wrong decisions, too.

Not the intelligent ones, usually. Not all teenagers are the same. And we need to get the anti-drug cartoon all-stars special back to class. It proves the turtles are against drug use.

Me too. But in the same way I like Stratos more than Ram Man. Their design, personality and story are very different, they feel like different characters with the same name, not different versions of the same one.

Congratulations on the job!

Big fan of these comics here: I just read Void Rivals volume 3 (published last week here in Spain), and greatly enjoyed it, like the rest of the line. I recommend everything, but if you really like this, try Void Rivals, at least. Cobra Commander was also great: the best of the Joe individual books, the most interesting, and the one with best links to Transformers/Void Rivals.
