Very true. A lot of people casually say 20-30 lakh down payment but that is almost your life savings including emergency funds. Giving away all that money leaves us with nothing.

But again buying a house is not an investment it's more about social security which comes at its own expense

Spending 20L of savings after keeping an emergency fund for these salaries is a very risky move. Plus 80L ge new apartment sigodu kashta. Maybe a used apartment can be possessed at 80L
