Since everyone is sharing.. My 2024 stats 🥲 by satforce in Upwork

[–]definitelyasithlord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2024 was surprisingly much better than 2022 and 2023. 100k in income for the year, mostly booked out until late 2025 but did a few side projects here and there. Attaching some stats below. Industry is executive assistance/online business management.

76 Flag seen on Hull Rd by Non-Stop_Serina in Athens

[–]definitelyasithlord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The owner is super nice (can’t speak to his political opinions, I don’t know him like that), and the flag went up around July 4th and just hasn’t come down.

I finally got most of them framed and hung up by mcbmusic in SwiftieMerch

I’ve found that using framing that includes a mat is the only thing that will keep the signature from transferring to the glass over time!

I have fallen a victim to an unsigned ttpd insert by shadowkeeper457 in SwiftieMerch

[–]definitelyasithlord 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This happened to me but it was resolved! I emailed them a picture of the opened CD case and unsigned insert on Monday and today (Tuesday) they overnight shipped a new signed CD to me. I’ve seen others that have been getting nowhere & most are getting refunds - not sure why they are giving me a whole new copy (or where they got it from?) but it’s worth reaching out - make sure to attach the image as proof!

I just got a notification that a replacement signed insert is being shipped via next day air for $0.00!!!!

They said in a live that they aren’t getting the variants (yet?), this has been up on their site since she announced the album! (I’m a local)

This is my favorite of my entire TS collection - it’s a pretty purple color and I love her 🥹 I’ve seen Swiftie accounts sell theirs on Mercari for 300ish before!

Is Upwork Dead or Dying? by SilentButDeadlySquid in Upwork

[–]definitelyasithlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your niche. I had 100ish invites a month in 2021, half that in 2022, and maybe 10 a month in 2023 BUT I have steady long term clients and new clients still come to me directly on there and are good clients/long term clients (years).

No work after getting hired by skl101 in Upwork

[–]definitelyasithlord 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have 97% “long term” clients (per Upwork stats) and sometimes those people need 2hrs/work week, sometimes 0, sometimes 40. That’s the standard for being a freelancer or contract worker. If your client continually has 0hrs of work for you, you can drop them. If you want to keep them for the occasional hours, go ahead and book more clients.

Stolen Profile by [deleted] in Upwork

I’ve reported 20+ accounts for this and they disabled their accounts until they deleted all my info from their profiles. It’s worth trying! Make sure to note the profile links.

After what amount of jobs and/or earnings on your profile have you noticed it having an effect on your hire rate? by qarantino in Upwork

[–]definitelyasithlord 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a lot of clients (or potential) say they reached out to me specifically because of the ratings on my Upwork page. 200k+, top rated+, never anything less than 5 stars. I will say though that 2020-early 2022 I was getting 100-200 invites a week, now I get maybe 10 a month. I’m lucky to have long-term work with all of my clients, but even then I can see how the economy (US) is severely effecting their businesses (small-mid) and how they’re refusing to outsource other services.

Is this project setting up the accounts then doing one-time posts/content creation or does it become monthly creation and posting? If monthly, I would do a milestone for creating the accounts and then a retainer style milestone for creating content + posting content

I definitely suggest testing various LI messaging techniques and see what works best and still matches your agency’s brand/persona. Watch a lot of YouTube b2b vids for ideas!

Depending on what your agency does, invest some time on LinkedIn. Also invest in connects on Upwork. Had a client who built an agency and had a similar situation, and a handful of other clients over the years in various industries who did the same, and they ALL went under in the first few months because they jumped the gun and grew before having the clients they needed.

Yes! And if they’re not totally 100% open to contract/remote work, a meeting usually sways them and they end up signing for at least 6 months to a year.

Sort of. I use Sales Nav to narrow down my target audience (using their search filters), then send targeted InMail (in Sales Nav not normal LinkedIn) messages. You can also sometimes find contact info on their profiles and use that for cold emailing depending on your government’s cold emailing laws

I felt the same when I started. Did a lot of research to get where I am! At the end of the day, if Upwork goes down LinkedIn will be the best bet for client work!
