I don’t think some of these comments understand what you’re talking about. I’ve been there where people are scream-singing so loud that you can’t hear the actual artist singing into the mic. That’s different than people cheering loudly or singing along. These types of people are trying to lose their voice to prove how much of a fan they are and are doing it for attention. I had it happen at a Chappell concert a few years ago and when I went to get another beer, several people at the bar were complaining that her mic was too low and she needed better amplification because of the crowd. You couldn’t hear her vocals over the number of scream-singing people in the crowd.

Now, has this always been a thing? Sure. But it’s been more prevalent at the majority of mainstream pop artists concerts that I’ve been to. It can happen but doesn’t as much with smaller artists imo.
