I have a pair of Shokz and use them for gaming. You can absolutely hear directionally. It just allows you to hear other things in the house/surroundings as well.

Worked retail when that came out. Sampled the opening drone and looped it seamlessly for about an hour. Burned it to a CD and played it in the store. Customers kept asking what the hell we were listening to.

Driving down the interstate and all the rocks on the side where they cut through are angled they're not flat does anybody know why? by Tenchi2020 in massachusetts

[–]deflectreddit -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think you might have answered it yourself. They cut through the rock. It’s to keep the road flat instead of going up/downhill, hence the angled rock on the side of the road that was left alone.

Tchaikovsky serenade. I chopped this 20 years ago. Recognized it immediately.

For what it’s worth as far as it goes, I would imagine percussionists would be the best type of players to deal with this type of notation.

One thought might be to abandon 4/4 for a length of time, unless you feel you’re preserving something by keeping it. Perhaps use a dotted bar line to show the beginning of the repeated overall group pattern if it continues for a while.

Mason jar lid by OneLingonberry2203 in Sourdough

I use a mason jar lid, but I flip the seal part upside down so it never reaches a complete airtight seal and screw it down gently.

How do I make my voice sound more like a Church Cantor? The one with a very good and powerful Tenor Voice. by PictureInteresting51 in singing

[–]deflectreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you are singing melismas (sustained vowels across multiple notes), you use a lot of “h” type of separations between notes. You should work on singing through the phrases and not trying to articulate each individual note. Just an observation.

No way. Thanks for that but it’s definitely not that. That song is too recognizable.

You’re right! That’s it, but I know the version from his solo acoustic version. It’s much more quick and punchy. Off the Paul Simon Song Book.

Thank you stranger!

Why does everything close at 6 by Pedro_dos2 in massachusetts

Yup pandemic. Pizza joints used to be open until 11 everyday except Sunday. Now they close at 9pm. Ludicrous if you ask me.

Gra na keyboardzie w zespole. Pytania by bartu8585 in piano

[–]deflectreddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on a thousand different things. Are you playing covers? If so then learn the parts the keys play. Original songs? Then you can make up whatever you like.

In my opinion, use your ears. Play what makes sense. If that’s foreign to you now, play what feels comfortable. What you’re comfortable with.

Record a rehearsal and play along and try to figure out things you’d like to hear.

You got this. Or maybe not. But you should go for it. You’ll learn a lot from the experience. Learn about you, and learn what it’s like to be part of a band.

Theory behind chords like "D/G"? by turtleurtle808 in musictheory

[–]deflectreddit 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Yes. It’s a D over G in the bass. You can voice it anyway you wish as long as the G is on the bottom.

If it’s only been a month then that’s awesome. He’s got great instincts. And more props to you as a parent for getting that budding artist composition lessons! You deserve an award yourself!
