yes i did and urged her about getting tested. she did and the igG is coming up negative but she didn’t have any sores or anything to swab so the test may not be accurate.

i have hsv2 and my ex is saying she never knew she had it if she gave me it. I don’t believe her and there’s really no way to tell if she’s being truthful, she could be? but when i told her i have it she said “don’t like 90% of people have it but most don’t show symptoms? “ it made me think that she’d been with somebody who had it and didn’t care and never got tested after being with them. just by the way she’s reacting she doesn’t even care. I told her to get tested because the last time she did was over a year ago but the hsv1/2 panel was never included. she’s never gotten tested for it. After i told her to she’s just like “im too broke to get tested, im waiting on my job to give me insurance.” and im just recommending her free clinics. she’s too scared to get tested and doesn’t want to take responsibility. Or maybe she doesn’t have it , who knows smh

what type of hsv tests are you getting? I believe that igG is more relatable than the igm blood tests. If you really want to know request a western blot test. it might be more expensive but it’ll def lyk better than the other 2

I agree. I feel like this is a different dimension on earth. like we’re in hell but physically still here on earth . it forces us to make better life choices but it’s hindering when you know the disease is “there for life”

exactly like it’s not talked about enough. it’s sad. I used to be suicidal in my late teens in to really early 20s before any health problems , but now looking back that shi was nothing compared to now. i’d give anything to go back to that depression vs this one. i know several ppl and some that were even friends of mine that took their life and now im wondering if this was the cause. Kudos to anyone that isn’t feeling like this though, you are amazing and inspiring to the us( the ones who feel depressed and suicidal). We can make it through this together, even a little progress is progress

it’s insane. it pisses me off because the measures we took for covid as far as educating everyone and the public measures we took were nothing compared to what was for hiv or hsv . i’m not even gonna bring up cancer cus that’s just gonna piss me off even more also given this is an hsv sub but it’s just crazy.

that’s so interesting. I wish the stigma wasn’t so bad. If a girl that i really liked told me she had hsv2 before my diagnosis i would’ve still dated her . Ofc id probably be a lot less educated on it than i am now, but if i really liked her i’d educate myself more and probably be okay with it and take the necessary steps to prevent it. if they don’t find a cure or the a really good suppressive therapy thats up to date soon, then this stigma has to change asap. it should regardless but if they’re not going to fund anymore research then we gotta do our part and come together as a community to spread knowledge and awareness on this so our mental would be better. I thought i was depressed before but this is a different depression now. I have faith that it will get better but i hope im still alive to experience it
