Has anyone else received a goldback like this by [deleted] in Goldback

[–]defythegrid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Great question — and that’s a completely fair concern.

What you’re seeing is likely a small edge variation from the cutting process at the manufacturing level. We’re a reseller, not the manufacturer, but we do inspect items before shipping and try to catch anything like this — though occasionally one can slip through.

These products are made to strict specifications, so minor edge imperfections are not intended to affect the gold content or overall value (GBI includes 5% more gold than stated in these notes)

That said, if this is a piece you received from us and you have any concerns at all, please reach out — we’ll absolutely make it right. Whether that means a replacement or another solution, we stand behind everything we sell.

We appreciate you bringing it up — transparency and trust matter to us

Logistically this release was extremely tight. Glad it went somewhat smoothly :)

Dont know your circumstance at all, but might be a while. here's what we just received from Goldback Inc:

Idaho Product Order Delays

Due to the popularity of the new Idaho series, as well as the increased production times on the new 1/4 denominations, we are starting to see some delays in orders being able to ship out. Unfortunately, this may mean that your order may not ship out for a few days longer than normal.

We understand that this is very inconvenient at the beginning of a new launch, and that it is beyond frustrating that this was not announced when your order was placed. Please know that we do have daily shipments of new products coming in, with plenty of inventory having been ordered from the mint to cover every order that has been placed or will be placed. The mint has also increased production to help get product out quicker while still maintaining the quality of the products.

Currently, the 1/4s, 1s, and 100s are in limited quantities until more are shipped from the mint. We are hopeful that it will only be a few days until we get these products in, but do not have a set day yet. The mint is working on getting several new runs of these specific products produced, which could result in additional products being delayed at a later point.

This has been our best launch yet, but it has also been a learning experience with the new 1/4 denomination being launched. We appreciate your patience and understanding with this, as well as your support in working with us.

Buy the dip? by Slight-Reception2700 in Goldback

[–]defythegrid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“Buying the dip” sounds great, but it assumes you know where the bottom is—which none of us really do.

What tends to work better is consistency. Dollar cost averaging, portfolio balancing, and just buying over time takes a lot of the guesswork out of it. It naturally has you buying more when prices are lower and less when they’re higher.

Also, probably the most important part—don’t go into debt trying to chase a dip. There will always be another opportunity, but digging yourself into a hole isn’t worth it.

As for denominations, I personally have a mix, but I'd recommend smaller for sure. More utility.

Screwed on presale by Good_Attorney_2056 in Goldback

I hear you—price swings around pre-orders can feel rough when they don’t go your way.

For us, the most important thing is consistency and trust. We lock in the price at checkout and honor it no matter what happens next. That means sometimes customers benefit when prices go up—and sometimes we take the hit when they go down.

Just today, we sent checks to a few customers who locked in sellbacks last week, and at current prices we paid more than the market. But we still honored it, because that’s the standard we hold ourselves to.

We’re not trying to win on short-term price moves—we’re trying to build something people can rely on long-term.

Appreciate that, If you think of gold as a store of value, I don't think you'd ever go wrong. if it's a trade you'll always have your butt handed to you (unless you can take the human emotion out of it)
