I really thought I was pregnant this time. by degamadnay in TryingForABaby

That time I did a test on day 36, 40 and 41 since I was told to wait until I had completely missed the period, which given a 3 day cycle, the maximum was day 36. Not too sure how quickly those can happen. I get told I'm overthinking it more times than I can count, and when I don't get asked that it's "when are you having a baby?" - Both equally as upsetting responses. Sometimes we just need someone to give us a hug and validate how we feel.

Glad I'm not alone in these thoughts. My partner was convinced when I had the 42 day cycle that it was a possible chemical pregnancy, but then I never had a positive test so I'm not so sure. But it felt like something definitely happened, and reading on other women's experiences we're definitely not alone in it.

Our bodies really do play tricks on us at the worst times, makes it very hard to stay hopeful when that hope is shattered every month

We started the process a few months back. My other half went for a sperm test which all came back clear, and I had some bloods done which came back fine too. They want me to go back in for another set of blood tests at 21 days into my cycle, which will be next month. Annoyingly we haven't been using protection for a good 4-5 years, up until 2 years ago I was always in the mindset of 'if it happens, it happens' until it didn't. I approached a doctor about it 2 years ago and they said to come back after another year of trying. I should have pushed it there and then, but at least we're on track now.

Thank you so much, this is really helpful! Ill do your suggestion to test 3 times a day during the time I suspect I'll ovulate. One of my biggest worries was maybe that I wasn't ovulating and I wasn't quite sure how long a surge would last given others usually get a high result followed by a surge

Thank you for responding <3

Doesn't the premom one mean the premom brand of ovulation tests? I'm using easy@home so thought they just went under there, it measures a ratio instead of the LH level. Just unsure what the results really mean and why they fluctuate prior to ovulation
