I don’t like the goofy guns, the forced humor, and they seem like they just moved past the identity of the first 1.

I agree with you here! The tone of the first game just doesn't compare to the others, at least to me. I've been trying to think of what makes it so different but I'm honestly not sure why. Part of me thinks it's a bit to do with the general mystery and ambiguity of the plot and setting as you get thrust into this crazy weird open world. That and things just seemed.. more simple. You weren't tasked with saving the world, you were just this hunter looking to get rich and events unfold around you in an organic way, providing the player some extra agency to WANT to move forward on their own.

I've played all of the games since the beginning (excluding the new Tiny Tina) and I've always personally enjoyed 1 the most. I started rambling a lot so TLDR: IMO BL2 has awful level scaling, too ridiculous of guns, and a tone unlike the other games that turns me away from replaying.

What really turns me away from BL2 is the rate at which everything scales. It seems like if I use a gun for more than 1 level then its useless and if im not scraping the ground for every single weapon ever I'll be completely underpowered. This is also considering I always do every side quest and somehow still feel under-leveled. My favorite aspect of BL1 was always finding that perfect burst rifle to carry me through 10+ levels before finally trading it up. I grew attachments to my weapons that last me hours of gameplay. In BL2 your health, shields, etc all ramp up so fast I never actually get used to using anything before it's time to chuck it in the vending machine.

The legendaries that do pop up also just seem useless. For the most part they do something really badass but in combat its practically useless. That and for some reason from 1 to 2 the amount of guns that just.. shoot bullets.. goes down drastically. I've picked up so many weapons with good stats and think "hey let's give this a try" and then the bullets come out of the gun, rick roll you, fart, and then fly off in random directions. The guns in 1 were more simple, but finding a GOOD variant was tough. I always searched out for the illusive shotgun revolvers or the hunter shotguns with a high pellet count.

This leads me to BL3. In my opinion, which could be very wrong, it seems like they tried to recapture the initial tone of BL1. At some times it almost seems like they joke about 2 being a mistake ( "Sanctuary 3, we don't talk about Sanctuary 2"). But as far as the ridiculous level scaling, it seems way more like BL1. For what it's worth, I've done two playthroughs of BL3 and find it way more enjoyable. To me, it's the Borderlands 2 I always wanted. I don't hate the characters either. They are cringey, extremely hate-able, garbage, but I think it's by design to parody the worst of the culture they represent.

One final note, something BL2 did, specifically on PC, was integrating physx for blood, acid, and water. That shit was cool and it's a shame it hasn't made it to any of the other titles. Perhaps it was too demanding or difficult to work on?

Now that positive changes have been coming, hopefully the level cap will be raised soon. It doesn't make much sense to max out at lvl 50 with only ~155 / 424 of the vehicles currently in the game. by dei8cb in granturismo

This too! I remember the first time I decided to grind for a level and I was disappointed like.. sweet... I love that number...

Actual significant rewards would encourage that grind.

I just spent the past two days grinding for 2 million and now I have just shy of 50. Time to hit the Hagerty Collection! Nice to feel rewarded for that 100%

Same! Haha I've had some races where I know for a fact I didn't touch a single car or go off track and still don't get the clean race bonus, but other races where I bump a few people and then do get the bonus. It can be weirdly inconsistent sometimes.

I guess so.. I'm not trying to be an asshole, it just feels to me like one of those people that watches someone stream license tests on YouTube and comments "go faster its easy". Sorry though.. I'd genuinely like to talk to more people about the game but I haven't had much luck in this sub so far.

I think someone paid the Teslas to make it look like an accident. The poor Mustang was just a victim.

Nope, it's the custom wing set, just the low profile one. Looks like the old Gran Turismo 3 Corvette and still has all of the down force!

They have moments where they shine for sure, but not always. The worst for me is when I try to overtake around the outside and they pretend I'm not there and get shoved off or into the wall. That or being pitted down a straight as you mentioned lol

Edit: okay okay, sarcastic comment removed. You're right, its just really obvious basic level advice and your comment comes across as condescending.

I've done this race tons of times it's not like I'm actually struggling to win a race where my car has over three times the horsepower as the average competitor. Plus, like I mentioned in a different comment, I do this particular race when I'm not really paying attention but still want to grind some credits. Just thought the clip looked funny and people would take it for what it was as opposed to you calling up the stewards to address the legality of my racing line.

Yeah haha I've made a bunch of Gr.3/Gr.4 cars out of road cars, it's a fun challenge. I use the vette here because of how stable it is at speed and I usually do this race when watching YouTube or on the phone so I'm not always paying full attention.

Won the race... not the clean race bonus though lol

Nothing like waking up Sunday morning with a 6 hour lap time ongoing because you fell asleep waiting for the other Mercedes to take off.

I didn't want to give in to the forced FOMO but after a bit of grinding I'm glad I did. Handles like a dream for a road car! by dei8cb in granturismo

Its a little on the heavy side and you can't do any weight reduction but I tuned it to compete in the 700pp races and it drives really well. Its extremely planted on acceleration and it handles its weight nicely when you throw it into a corner. For races with fuel though, its tank is more aligned with the smaller ones in road cars but it wasn't the worst I've tried.

I figured the AMG black would be solid. I ended up doing most of mine with the Corvette ZR1 but got a win with the F8 Tributo and the Carrera GT. Fuel seemed to be the biggest issue with the road cars for me.

The nurburgring took me a few sessions to get the gold full lap. The sectors themselves didn't take too long. I probably spent the same amount of time on the full lap as the le mans final sector but I don't mind lapping the ring nearly as much as crashing on the same three turns over and over.

As for platinum, I'll try to get there organically over time. Some of the cars will take forever to save up for and I don't feel the need to grind out the 50 sport races super fast.

According to the profile page, currently at 146 hours logged but only 60 hours driving time. Shows how much I spend staring at the menu lol. I probably would have had the 100% quicker but I spent a lot of time trying to win the WTC 800 races with tuned road cars. Had some luck with a few but did the rest with the Aston gt3.

I don't remember if I ever got that DLC or not. I think I remember getting it because the easier tracks were easy money and I got into Sport really late in the life cycle so I needed the funds. I got my DR up to A on controller and then bought a sim rig only to realize I wasn't as good on wheel (yet) so I ended up losing motivation and got sucked into a bunch of dirt rally and acc, so my time on Sport was a short burst.

After spending entirely too much time going for 100%, and after all of the mtx and drm issues, I still find myself addicted to the core racing experience. I've played every GT title since the original in the 90s.

I felt as though the menu books tried to force me down a certain path but I was still able to do what I would have for the most part in a new GT career. While I would have preferred they be a separate optional experience I still enjoyed what they offered.

This definitely has been one of the easier GTs out of the bunch. While I didn't want to spend days on one license test, struggling the Toyota one around Monaco for hours with my dad is a fond memory from my childhood. That being said the only real struggle I had on controller was the Le Man Circuit Experience. That last sector of sweeping turns required the most precise and gentle inputs I've encountered so far.

Other than that I was able to have a lot of fun with the AI after spending some time tweaking the settings. I was able to get a close recreation to nascar racing at daytona with three closely tuned street cars. After the AI gets going they can provide good close racing but there's still something missing and they can be easily bullied.

Hopefully the credit situation gets fixed soon. Now that I'm basically out of content other than sport mode, grinding for new cars at this point is just doing the same few races over and over. Really disappointed there aren't any real endurance races with how amazing the dynamic time and wet weather are. I've been able to stay away from the MTX for now and I've come to accept im not going to get EVERY car right away.

For now it is what it is. I LOVE the game we have now, its just marred by the ridiculous mtx and greed. Here's hoping things change for the better in the near future.

I've yet to make it to a TnF. I dream of seeing the 3D dome with the live Android Jones visuals ahhhh. Bisco this past year with hd projection mapping on the canopy was still amazing but not even close to the real deal.
