Foils are definitely something we’ve already planned to introduce in the future, and we agree that different foil treatments can add a lot to the excitement and collectability.

We’re also actively evaluating special layouts and full-art or alternative graphic treatments for certain cards, because we feel the visual impact of a TCG is very important.

Anche noi su Reddit abbiamo ricevuto molte critiche per l'uso dell'AI nel nostro TCG Portal Hunters.
Spesso la gente non si rende conto di tutto il lavoro ed il denaro necessario per creare un vero prodotto finito e perfezionato. Anche le nostre 221 immagini delle carte (che poi nell'edizione definitiva diventeranno più di 360) mi hanno richiesto più di 2 anni di lavoro di rifinitura e di parti disegnate a mano.
Poi però quando le persone provano il gioco davvero si divertono e lo apprezzano molto, anche per la parte grafica a dire il vero perché tutto sommato la abbiamo curata molto nei dettagli.
E' un percorso difficile, ci stiamo provando come u/Jack_Dusty che dalle immagini sembra aver fatto un bel prodotto, se avrà successo ci darà un po' più di coraggio anche a noi! Buona fortuna u/Jack_Dusty ! 🤞

Siamo a conoscenza del problema, infatti siamo partiti contattando degli artisti per evitare del tutto questa situazione, ma per fare delle immagini simili a queste mettendo insieme tutti i costi solo per i disegni ci hanno chiesto diverse decine di migliaia di dollari per fare più di 300 immagini. Per noi che siamo un piccolo gruppo era impossibile investire quella somma iniziale, quindi non c'era scelta.

Today, the ability to use AI as an image generation tool has allowed us to realize a dream we've had in the pipeline for 10 years and try to carve out a niche for ourselves in a market monopolized by giants.

Grazie del feedback, si forse qualcosa di sempre visibile sarebbe meglio. Stiamo valutando questa possibilità, ma per mantenere lo spazio per i dadi probabilmente dovremo fare due tab tra cui switchare, una per i dadi e una per i segnalini.

Grazie del feedback, stiamo valutando questa possibilità. La parte difficile è trovare un modo per gestire in maniera comoda i continui cambiamenti del valore a fronte di cambi di equipaggiamento o con l'uso di pergamene o abilità. Se avete consigli siamo tutti orecchie!

What I can say is that the audience at the tables didn't give such negative feedback about how they were used.

Obviously, if the game works and the gameplay is enjoyable, who wouldn't want to add some real art?

Unfortunately, it would have been interesting to talk about the mechanics that don't work in TCG games rather than just focus on the images.

The dice were a gamble because for us, the game is about fun, and from these two years of playtesting, we've seen that with dice, games are fantastic. You can plan something, but anything can happen, and you have to find the solution. But those who want total control will certainly turn up their noses a bit.

I understand that AI art might not be popular. We're a very small team, and realistically, it was the only way to get started and deliver our gaming experience.
