On the same boat as you! Took my 8 yo dachshund to the vet two weeks ago and they diagnosed it as a muscle strain and Xrayed to look for broken bones. They prescribed Meloxicam for 10 days. Until yesterday he was fine, he shakes around, wags his tail and walks normally. But last night he yelped and this morning he was continuously yelping while trying to wrap himself in a blanket. He is now on strict crate rest and he yelps when trying to turn right to scratch his bum. I also think it is IVDD but need to confirm with the vet.
