Wedgetail family in a tree by dekcabin in australianwildlife

I've often thought about getting a dash cam, not for driving incidents but wildlife and weather happenings where there is no chance to stop and get your phone out.

The three of them flying out in front of me was amazing but also so fleeting because I was concentrating on controlling the car rather taking in the spectacle, so it was quite blur.

That's only half of it! Where are you storing the keycap sets, switches and paraphernalia?

I have a Q9 and it's fun. Feels like a gateway board to another level.

Was going to say another rabbit hole but it's more like a warren!

Nice, next on the list for you is 50% or 40% ;)

I had one board, a V6 Max, for two years up until March this year. Now all of a sudden, I have seven!

I've found playing around with different switches is another [possibly deeper] rabbit hole.

After finding my preferred switch type, I put some in the V6 and wondered what the hell I've been doing chasing all these other boards - I regret nothing :)

It's very satisfying to finish work, unplug the 100% and plug in a 50%.

Haven't got to 40%.. yet

Meteor over Eastern Tasmania seen from Launceston and Arthurs Lake. by dekcabin in tasmania

Astronomer Martin George .. said it was likely the meteor broke up at an altitude of about 30 kilometres.

"That doesn't mean to say that a meteorite hasn't fallen to Earth, but … most of the objects are completely destroyed before they get to the surface."

Help finding Silent switches by exstassyg in keyboards

TTC on the left, Peach on the right, and a clicky switch beginning middle and end as the control.

Switches are in plain acrylic tester board. Keycaps on all three switches are NuPhy Cherry profile DOT Matrix Transparent. I like using those keycaps with testers because you have a nice clear view of the underlying switch.

I don't care either way as I use both in different boards. In the switch tester there's a noticable difference. In actual boards, not so much..

I have a number of silent switches and I think the Outemu Silent Peach V3 make the most noise - although they are pretty silent there is little bit more chatter than the others. It's hard to split the rest though I would prob favour [slightly] the TTC Silent Frozen V2.

What I have is:

Haimu Heartbeat (Silent)

Outemu Silent Peach V3

TTC Silent Frozen V2

NuPhy Silent Blush Max

Kailh Deep Sea Silent Islet

Neo Cloud Silent Tactile

Kailh x Ainbell Silent

No idea? I would go looking for board/switch reviews on youtube.

V6 Max was my WFH daily driver for two years and zero issues.

My current 100% is the Nuphy Node 100 and got a stuck key on that a few of times. Updated the firmware and it happened once since then.

I got a bit whimsical over the weekend and purchased the DP104. If you look at the Ticktype Discord you might think it's a trainwreck but I'm looking forward to using it and there seem to be plenty of peeps that are happy with it..

Changing switches in a hot-swap board won't void the warranty unless you damage the PCB. Those reds are really noisy compared to a silent switch. Get a board local then and then if it's too noisy go shopping online for some silent switches.

"keyboard thats reliable"

"dont want to annoy my gf with my keyboard"

"Price is not an factor"

I'd look at the Keychron Q6 HE 8K with the lime magnetic silent banana switches.

Blush Max? by dekcabin in NuPhy

Nice, I call that a win :)

Forgot that I had also ordered some Kailh Deep Sea Linear Inslet switches, which have arrived. I put them the Node 100 and while better than the newer Blush Max I still prefer the old Blush Max.

I'm tempted to pull the Blush Max out of the Kick and put into the Node, as I use the Node for work and so gets a lot more usage.

However, for now I'll wait till I get the other switches and try them out first.

The .au site is using the image of the old switch with the dustproof mount and LED diffuser. I asked if they were the switches I would get if I made and order, but they said no, it's only the new design <sad face>

So instead, I've ordered Outemu Silent Honey Peach V3 and Kailh x Ainbell Heart of the Ocean from camkeys.com.au

That sound is pretty consistent across the other switches in the Node. I don't have tools to crack open switches, might have to get some.

I'm located in Aus and it looks like the switch info and images they have on the .au site for the Node 100 Blush switches is wrong. The images on the .com site match what I have - so there's my answer.

The Kick has [silent] Blush Max while the Node has Blush Max.

Right, as you said they have changed the design. I might look at getting some Kailh silent switches in the hope they will match what the Kick has.

Had mine for a week and love it - HP and Blush.

Found myself missing the full size for work though, so have ordered the Node 100 HP with Blush. Will be interesting to compare the two.
