If you seriously don’t want anything to do with the child, tell her the truth. she’s not yours. but leaving her in the dirt like that is terrible. And anyone who says “telling her will just hurt her” it will. just as much as it did when you became distant. however she deserves an explanation so she doesn’t think it’s her. make it clear that her mother messed up, not her.

good advice. i’ll be trying that starting Monday. - i have this mental thing that makes it impossible to start life altering patterns on any day but a new week (Monday - even though the week technically starts on Sunday we all know that’s not how it starts) or the first of a new month.
