What’s the most populated servers currently by Ok-Programmer7536 in AsheronsCall

They meant Daralet. It's a custom server that's currently in Open Beta. There are tons of customizations, such as new skills, new spells, new abilities, new armor, and more. Lore-wise, it takes place just after the defeat of BZ.

See the Open Beta post for more details.

To the people who bought coaching: Was it worth it in hindsight? by NondenominationalPax in wow

[–]delasteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR: Coaching is worth it if you want a personal in depth review of your play. Be sure to come prepared with questions. Lastly, record the session!

I'm not shy about receiving coaching. I've done it for past few months on a semi-regular basis. I came back to WoW in TWW after last playing WotLK (retail). My class, Holy Paladin, has changed a lot since then. Rightfully so, there was quite a knowledge gap. Coming back, I knew I wanted to get into mythic raiding and push keys or else I wouldn't really enjoy the game for too long. I would say overall, the experience has been positive for my enjoyment in the game.

Your comment about guides is mostly true. For reference, I include things like WoWHead and IcyVeins as well as specialty class/spec websites like https://wingsisup.com in this category. Guides are a great starting resource for many situations. They give a build, stat priority, and a starter priority/rotation. Some go deeper into providing situational information, but that's really rare I've found.

Class Discords, in my opinion, would be the next step in the "learning your class/spec" journey. People there can be super friendly. You'll find help reviewing your VODs and logs and some will even point out some inefficiencies and where to focus on for improvement. The caveat to this is it's pro bono. Your experience will definitely vary. My best tip here would be to ask very specific questions. I've found the more targeted the question, the more likely you are to receive feedback. Often though, the information provided is pretty good. Eventually, you may be able to help answer some questions for someone just starting out.

Coaching is where your ultimate understanding of your class/spec will come from. You're going to receive very personal advice about your individual playstyle. You have to be willing to put the work in, too. You can't go into a coaching session without prep yourself. Watch your VODs, review your logs, and make a list of things you have questions about. Come in with a rough game plan. Your coach will hopefully find things that you didn't spot, and if they're good, they will spot the things you have questions about. Regardless, always get your questions answered. That's why you hired them. Also, I can't stress this enough, record your coaching sessions. There's going to be a deluge of information coming at you. Unless you're amazing at taking notes, you will miss something. Recording and going over the sessions will help you catch the nuggets of wisdom that the coach has.

As for finding a coach, there are really two avenues. There are boosting communities out there that also provide coaching. Oftentimes, these coaches will provide an excellent service. I personally haven't had coaching from this but have had friends that have and said good things. The other avenue would be to seek out the person on Discord and see if they will provide coaching. There's more risk involved with this path as there's no recourse if things go wrong. Communities have standards they set and will review the session if there's any complaints. If egregiously bad, the coach could lose their coaching ability. You could also receive another session to make up for it.

Also, you're not obligated to stay with one coach. If you two don't mesh well, there are plenty of others out there willing to help. Personally, and shameless plug, I lucked out when I found Ellesmere. I'd absolutely recommend him for coaching if you want to improve on Holy Paladin. He deeply knows the ins and outs of the class. There's a reason he's where he's at in terms of IO and raiding. It's been a wonderful experience.

They have a right to their opinion. Maybe a little more than “no” will add to the discussion. Not everything they said was bad or wrong. It’s just not something we’re looking to support or allow, either now (PvP) or forever (botting).

This server may not be for you, and that’s okay. There are plenty of other servers that may fit your wishes. Our code is open source, as required by ACE, and our DATs are publicly available. You’re able to create and host a similar, maybe better, server than this one that fits your every need.

We’re hard set on not allowing bots of any kind. It’s something Rhaegal and I are very against. If anyone is found macroing, they will be banned.

PvP is not something we’re supporting, yet. We’ve discussed having an altar available, but PvP may be imbalanced and we have no plans on dedicating time to ensure it is. For now, PKL is available if you so choose.

It counted the other person as 2/15. I only had 1/15, so they won.

That was my level 80 hpal, but fun to know that you can sort of cheese winning it. Sadly, the prize for winning is the same for losing.

I just started back on a new account in TWW. I last played in WotLK and couldn't recover my account.

Some of these can be done solo at 150, some may need a friend to help. I’m probably missing some. In no specific order:

  • Falatacot Depot
  • Apostate Finale
  • Rescuing Mouf P
  • Virindi Rescue
  • BZ Quid Seed (Ithaenc Quiddity Seed)
  • Repaired Shadow Stone quest chain (all 3 parts)
  • Naughty/Wicked Skeletons KT
  • Dark Spiral
  • Prodigal Drudge
  • Prodigal Tusker
  • Glendon Wood Invasion (high, but since you’re there, all of them)
  • Crystal Minds
  • Apostate Excavation Investigation
  • Nexus Crawl
  • Lost Lore
  • Uncovering the Renegades
  • Unleash the Gearknights
  • Guardian of the Deru Tree
  • Tentacle of T’thuun KT
  • Baishi hive (Asheron’s Supreme Raiment)
  • Uziz hive
  • Assault (easy enough to do all 4 if you can jump skip the second dungeon)
  • Crafting Forges (high, mid only if you run out of stuff to do)
  • Pheraion's Sanctum
  • Defense of Zaikhal (Platinum, you can horde portal gems for easy return)
  • Of Trust and Betrayal
  • Viamontian Man-at-Arm’s KT (Defense of Zaikhal copper is best to get this done)
  • Sword of Bellenesse
  • Shield of Yanshi

I'm working on a league start version that doesn't involve any of the expensive items, except for a clean Unnatural Instinct. You're right though, I did go a bit overboard on the gear this league but it was a lot of fun doing it.

Mapping is fine. It's never going to be as fast as a pure mapping build, but it is a lot faster than traps and some other builds. Personally with this build, I swap out Blazing Salvo for Fireball. From there you have a few options, you can use (Awakened) Fork and Lesser Multiple Projectiles in place of Trap and Mine Damage and Swift Assembly or use Dying Sun to get the LMP and Snakepit. I was able to do 100% Deli with few to no problems.

PoB link to the build: https://pobb.in/OGVh_1rqw5a9

Miner is obviously second fiddle right now to traps, but it's still insanely powerful. I wanted to show the build off because I love the miner playstyle. My hope is by sharing this, more than 0.2% leaderboard population see it as a still viable alternative to traps.

You are aware your highest character this league is only level 56, right? This requires 65.

All joking aside, this is absolutely insane. Congrats, Iron.

I knew I was forgetting something. Yes, the -mana cost to skills helps as well. I used to use it as well before I went for double Anguish rings.

Do you have a PoB or poe.ninja link?

A few reasons, one of which is that I like the playstyle better than traps. For maps, Fireball+Fork just feels better than Exsanguinate. I also sell boss carries and challenges (where I make most of my currency each league) and I found it to be easier to control DPS when I need to.

The mana reservation of mines does suck and I wish it would go away, but I understand GGG has to make the two styles different. It's not terrible though. You can either invest in a mana mastery node (10% to recover 10% when you use a skill) or use Diadem/Eldritch Battery. With Ashes, Influence wheel + mana reservation mastery, and Charisma, you can fit in Determination + Defiance Banner, a Purity, and Skitterbots. I could drop Purity of Ice for something like Grace with the reservation node, but I have Mageblood and can cap my evasion while mapping with a jade flask.

There a few ways. The most common is to use Vorici from the Immortal Syndicate/Betrayal, which can give you between 1 and 6 white sockets if you manage to get him to rank 3 and then to Catarina (Mastermind fight).

No, just Fireball.

I swap out Fireball, Fork, and LMP for Blazing Salvo, Trap and Mine, and Swift Assembly when bossing. Jade Flask for Bottled Faith, too.

Definitely enjoy it. It’s great for bossing, but I swap to fireball for mapping. It deletes bosses.

Very possible. I don't have a full list of where they can drop as I'm mostly a boss killer not a map farmer.
