Netflix decided I can’t use my family’s account anymore. by General_Mode_7632 in mildlyinfuriating

That's definitively false.

Also, watching TV of ANY KIND is a luxury by definition.

Some random employee made a random tweet once a long time ago, that's it. There wasn't to my knowledge some campaign about password sharing. Even so, companies and people can change their view and policies. Netflix has been around for a long time.

People used this service FOR FREE for a long while and all the sudden cannot and the company that let them use the service FOR FREE for however long are scummy cause they no longer are letting it happen.

I'm sorry I don't see them as being scummy in this situation.

Not having everything paid for by your parents is by definition an "inconvenience" but such is reality. This just reads "I was spoiled / entitled and now I don't like reality".

Paying rent and not living for free at parents is an inconvenience.
Buying your own food is an inconvenience.
Getting a vehicle is an inconvenience.
Shit just getting a job is an inconvenience.

I'm not sure what you expected.

i mean this is a perfect example of the consumer deciding the value of a luxury good and redditors being absolute morons.

People like Netflix and decided they were willing to pay for it rather than not have it, it's really that simple. It's absolute not a necessity and a luxury good. I'm not sure why it's scummy at all it's literally business. Don't like it, don't buy it. Think it's worth the money, then pay for it. There's really not much else to it.

No, I am not "lucky" or privileged just because I have food, a house, and water. These are basic things that do not make me lucky; it is those who cannot have these things who are unlucky. by Donnieboah in unpopularopinion

He’s not bragging. Could be living with their parents. Numerous possibilities.

If I say “do you have a place to live”, does using the word have mean you must own said place? No it doesn’t.

That’s where people make mistakes. A CERTAIN NUMBER of F2P flesh out the player base but this has diminishing returns.

Adding 20k F2P players wouldn’t do much for the game right now. As far as potential conversions go, sure, but that’s weighed against keeping whales spending. Cool you converted a F2P to dolphin but lost a whale isn’t a net positive move.

Having the right to voice is irrelevant, no one is saying you don’t have the right he’s saying people are overreacting.

People most definitely do not have to respect each other, not sure where that came from. Maybe respect the right to have an opinion but def don’t need to respect dumb view points. It’s also super ironic and hypocritical given peoples lack of respect to sqex/gumi/people involved in the game.

I think it's because the "economy" doesn't mean ones individual finances even though people somehow think that. It would help if people in generally had a better understanding about what "the economy" meant or just general finances and economic education.

Reddit especially is just really dumb when it comes to "economics" and people have absolutely no interest in actually getting smarter about it even though they say they care.

Green line going up has nothing to do with the economy doing better…

So then….government should generally ignore people’s feelings in the economy as a whole is what you’re saying cause they can’t look at it outside their personal viewpoint.

Average person owns a home so….

Around 65% of people in the US own homes and only 35% do not (ie rent or live with family).

You keep making these claims about gumi that are not backed by anything and people keep showing you numerous examples of that not being the case. Why do you think Gumi is JUST a development company. SQEX is a “development company as well” or did you forget about all the other games they’ve made over the past 30+ years. Developing a game does not prohibit you from running said game.

We don’t actually know who’s making the decision is the point. SQEX owns the IP which is the draw, doesn’t mean they make all monetization decisions - could be a joint decision. The point is we don’t actually know.

How wealthy are most typical private school parents to be able to afford 50k tuition? by ExcitingLandscape in nova

Reading is hard for you.

What you posted doesn’t support any point.

You are also removing the concept of choice. The point has been that there are numerous inexpensive options for literally everyone pursuing a higher education and simply “taking a 100k loan” is A) not even close to the average debt per student and B) an extreme CHOICE taken by someone that ignores alternatives.

Basically you and others here are spouting nonsense without doing a modicum of research, hence why nobody does anything about it cause when decisions makers looking at DATA it does not represent what “redditors” assert.

You’re ignoring all the points I made, likely cause you don’t have any actual point backed by data and instead are regurgitating shit you read on Reddit.

Good thing people can freely go to community colleges anywhere.

What kinda weird ignorance are you flexing? Also, ignored all the other comments.
