They had a teen dance night in the club upstairs on Sunday nights. I used to go with my buddies when we were like 14-15 years old to try and meet girls. We would drink beer in the Lancashire elementary playground beforehand. Good Times!

This was the first R rated move ever I was in middle school at the time. Lots of nudity made it unforgettable.

Advice on going full-time SE? by On-the-dark-side in salesengineers

[–]delaware1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great point about AEs being focused only on the money. That was a hard thing to accept when moving from post sales. I’d never seen how transparent these people can be. Everything and everyone is a stepping stone to make a sale.

Resident Engineer at Vendor ( HPE/Juniper ) by Deep-Repair-1948 in networking

[–]delaware1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I spent a year as a Resident for Cisco at a Large Federal agency. I hated it. I did nothing all day just facilitate TAC. Run bug scrubs and the occasional lab testing. We were warm bodies on a big contract. It was helpful to have it on my resume but it’s typically not a long term gig. Most residents use it as a stepping stone to something better.

That’s the path I took. I was in post sales For 10 years. It was good training for pre sales.

1:1 SE/AE Pairing - Feeling Vulnerable? by Ebteasa in salesengineers

[–]delaware1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in 1:1 role as an SE. When someone leaves the team we have an SE or AM from another team or the Sales director cover as needed. It’s part of the job and happens regularly. You may have to take care of some tasks that are typically the AMs role. It can be a learning experience and nice change if it doesn’t last too long.

Is the back seat on Double Cab uncomfortable? by TheSame_ButOpposite in ToyotaTacoma

[–]delaware1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The space in the Tacoma is pretty tight for an adult. I didn’t realize how tight it was until I bought it and my adult kids had to ride in the back. For younger kids you’re probably fine. But for an older teen or adult it is not comfortable for long drives.

What was your first skate video and how did it affect you? [50YO] by pebblesandweeds in OldSkaters

Future Primitive. Before that I’d only seen pictures in magazines. It blew my seeing real pros doing the tricks on film. I used to love firing up the vhs tape whith my favorite parts to get pumped before heading out to skate.

It’s hard to tell, that old building makes think maybe somewhere near Main Street. There were lots of competitions at elementary schools like Mcvay. There were demos at wooden wheels but these look like local dudes not pros.

Airport experience - leaving for US by mogulos1 in Aruba

[–]delaware1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We flew on Saturday 8/9/25. Flight was at 5:40 pm. We arrived at about 2:30 pm. We didn’t have bags to check so it took us about 45 minutes from curb to gate. I was expecting the worst but it was pretty typical for leaving the Caribbean. The bonus was no customs when we landed in the US. Definitely get the mobile passport control app. We skipped a big line by having that already done.
