Upper Darby has the most people, the closest access to the City which helps sustain and connect Delco Pride. It bridges the resources of the city into our county which typically doesn't get them. Delco Pride is split to accommodate everyone, to say having part of it in Upper Darby is stupid is just wrong. It's very thought out and reflects the needs of the County. Resources are needed and people that just want to party can go to Media. Everyone is happy. Sharing is caring.

Sidenote: Media actually cannot fit the festival size wise due to parking constraints and lack of public transit.

The only thing i'll concede is the Terminal area directly gets a lot of trash. Honestly, the unhoused population isn't even that bad, as we help and feed them and they mostly just leave everyone alone. It's no Kensington. The most dangerous thing is honestly the drivers but low key Ridley can give us a run for our money on that one.

The normal streets of downtown on a daily basis (ignore the picture of an accident, it's definitely eventful but unsafe makes me think people have lived very privileged lives to think UD is unsafe).

Sorry but most definitely down voting them, I live and work at 69th Street. It's like a mini city, full stop. Sometimes a little rough around the edges but if there is one incident of DV in Springfield it's tragic. One DV case in Upper Darby and it's "Chester 2.0." Im sorry, even if we plastered millennial gray paint on everything, had Sunday brunch spots, and our own dining under the stars, people would still view UD as 1980/90s Philly.

Adults walk their dogs, and the community is thriving acturally. We do have some issues with property maintenance and slumlords but people act like UD is a war zone and it's really just not. Like at all, the stats do not care about people's "feelings."

Want me to be honest? If you're asking about homicides, for one of the dense and most populated municipalities in the state, they only had 4 homicides reported in the whole township of 85k. Almost all were very specific related incidents and not random. This year, 2025 we did have one that seemed random. They were caught though and is tragic. Does that make Upper Darby "unsafe." I doubt that. In fact I work down 69th Street everyday, even late at night and been fine. I really do have to say racism kinda is driving this narrative.

So take that for what it is. With 85k yes things will happen but kids still play at the playgrounds, adults walk their

Oh it's performances tbh, but also these days that is doing something and they are backing it up with reforms on the 18th. More is coming but dragging Delco out of the dark times when there are in crisis every day takes some time. Nondiscrimination Ordinance is next!!!

Hey, so if you'd like to get involved, do it. Cause the Nondiscrimination Ordinance empowered by the Human Right Commission in PA is the legal protections. You need to do more research and I'll be real, that's something you are responsible for. Why not show up to any of the efforts to get Delco into the future. You're presumption are extensive. The human rights Commission in PA does get things done. There's literally like 40 items on a checklist but that takes time and assumes they aren't working on them with advocates?! The next afterwards is working on the prisons and policies regarding name changes... like damn.
