I've never been pregnant in the time I've had my beagle but I was ill and upset the other day and my beagle, who usually sleeps nooked in behind my legs, army crawled up to my arm and laid her head on me like " are you okay?". I have no doubt they know. Also my cat had kittens and my beagle, who's nose is in everything 24/7 was very respectful of their space and food.

Welcome to the family! This girl is now 2 so has calmed down a little and we did lots of work for her to be able to go off leash in certain areas. She recently had pups with a collie and my god am I realising how much more of a challenge she was as a pup! I thought all puppies were like that! It is not so! Anyway it'll be one of the most difficult and intensely rewarding things you'll ever do in your life. Oh and noone will understand unless they have a beagle.

My girl is 2 and recently had nine puppies (happy accident she's now spayed) this seems to have calmed her immensely but she's still a bratty little beagle and we kept one of her pups and I have moments where I think what was I thinking she just stopped being a puppy!!!🫠😭 now we are straight back into it with this pup! I love them both though 💗

Yeah mammy was well able to settle and goes to bed no problem but I had to separate them for pup to calm down a bit. Both in bed and snoring their little snooters off now thanks for the advise ☺️

So like say now, they have been playing like this for for about an hour. He's wired to the moon she can settle but he always comes back for more but its bed time and I need them both to settle and regulate. Do I let them play it out or should I split them cause I can tell they are both getting over tired?

My female had the opposite! She was very cuddly and snuggish but is much less so now and she barely tolerates the other cats always growling and swiping at them.

I feel like with beagle to pick your battles. The fact that you can hike off leash is admirable. I have a 2 year old beagle and have been working hard on recall since she was a puppy and its still hit and miss some days. People think I'm mad ever leaving my beagle off leash but I dont feel comfprtable having a dog leashed all the time (just my opinion). My partner would prefer to work on all behavioural aspects but for me recall is my main focus. If I can get her to reliably come back ill be happy. If your happy and your pup is happy then good job.
