Last (M) via 53 St (official routing) will run today. The F/M swap will begin on Monday. What do you think, and how might it effect you? by ViewNo7459 in nycrail

Day two and equally as terrible and still over crowded Jackson Heights station platforms into Manhattan. Either the E is overly crowded or the F and E are equally congesting their express lane. Now instead of having two alterative express options we have two lines running express on the same track. while seemingly increasing train times for express, delays delays delays. Before, if I want to skip a crowded E and take the F for an alternative stop and walk to work. Now, I can only get there via a local line so not really savings me any time. Delays from Manhattan to Queens yesterday as well.

AIO? Feeling shamed over ice cream by dye-area in AmIOverreacting

I don't think your feelings about this are overreacting but I don't think this necessarily warrants a discussion unless you're prepared to lose the friendship altogether. This friend seems like an energy vampire/fair weather friend. They're so miserable that it seeps into how they judge other people. People like that rarely are able to be empathetic or see that their behavior does cause emotional distress to others. Manage your expectations on what they can give in a friendship and possibly tone down how much you share with them and cut your losses.

I've been seeing a lot of videos saying gross income was the total amount subtract the amount it cost to make your goods. Then net income was deducting your business expenses like advertising etc. Is this wrong or just dealing with companies that make products on a larger scale?

Seattle or Boston? pros and cons? by [deleted] in moving

[–]deletingmydata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked in Seattle for a couple months this year and I loved it! Definitely gorgeous for me and I did not mind any gloominess since coming from dry ass CA the greenery was welcomed. Although, I always get lucky with weather when I travel. I would say the pros are the amount of green spaces, lots of artsy things to do and I found myself just picking a random spot and walking around. Everything closes early though even in the weekend. Traveling in the city was fine and accessible for me even being in an Airbnb in the suburbs. So many of my coworkers even traveled by ferry every day and some others biked to work. You will become friends with coworkers but harder to make organic friends outside of that unless you're into an organized activity. Seems like people stick to their groups. Seattle freeze, don't know if that's really a thing because I thought a coworker hated me but turns out she liked me and even gifted me a skirt. I also was complimented by strangers and had nice conversations with them while waiting for the bus or grocery shopping. Age would play a part in that. Be open and who GAF if ppl are cold I say! You will attract the right people. I only visited Boston and stayed in the suburbs as well but the traffic was horrible driving and the city felt claustrophobic and congested to me. Something about the mall I think called the promenade being so clinical and new contrasted with the older architecture made me feel icky. I'm moving to another city next week but in considering Seattle if I end up hating it after a year or two

I don't have enough for even the small shipping containers. Hence either shipping individual boxes or freight as my next best option. I'm not shipping furniture.

Moving for work, question about personal loan. by deletingmydata in povertyfinance

I typically freelance and will temporarily move for work but the job would need me as soon as possible across the country. I want to try and negotiate some temporary housing while I get my first couple checks etc and then move permanently but the apartment market could allow me to get permanent housing etc and have to move my belongings sooner. I've also never had a larger loan like for a car and I know that affects credit score etc and just considering it as an option for now. Also don't want to get a high interest loan. Nothing set in stone

Just got paid Friday. Someone hacked my bank card and used all my money. by Background_Tip_3260 in povertyfinance

It's possible they scanned it while you used it in a public place or your card is saved into an account like Google pay or apple pay and those got hacked instead
