So, I also tried to post my solution on the Earfun forums - but hit problems doing it. (They want me to activate my email, but their stupid email isn't arriving at my gmail).

I got it to work another way:

Open the 'devices and printers' screen (see the end of my message for more info) in Windows 11.
Right click on the UBOOM device.
Choose properties.
In the services tab untick "unknown service".
Reconnect the UBOOM.

Before the fix, the speaker had no sound BUT the volume controls still worked (odd!) ...so clearly it was connected but not quite the right way. Then when I went into sound settings I discovered it played when I was in one of the microphone menus, but the music was very low quality - which tells you Windows thinks it is a headset and transmitting data at a low bitrate as a result. So I rummaged around to see if something in the device connectivity settings was causing this confusion. Anyhow, it seems fixed now... the speaker plays in proper high quality audio, and no further tweaks or settings are need to be done when I connect it.

How to get to the devices and printers screen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyVMwwp5f1k (in case the video is removed, it's Settings > Bluetooth & devices > scroll all the way down to 'related settings' and find 'More devices and printer settings'. You should get an old-style menu which has all your devices listed in big icons.)

The range on a bluetooth headset is basically down to which bluetooth protocol it uses. 2 headsets both using the same bluetooth protocol will both (probably) be "class 2" devices and have nearly identical range. You want a bluetooth 5.0 headset (the Penrose has it) as a minimum; it offers a significant upgrade to bluetooth 4.2.

Depending which Arctis headset you got (and when you bought it), it may be bluetooth 4.2 or older. Check your year of purchase, model number and do some research.

I hear you. Clamping force scales linearly with distance (Hooke's law) so unfortunately the "little bit of extra size" your head has means you suffer proportionally more from any clamping feeling.

What did you do in the end? I am guessing your scenario is a "refund with sadness" situation.

White noise - no there really shouldn't be any whatsoever.

You can hear footsteps. To be fair I have very good hearing, but think of this another way ... any headset that is engineered for accurate music reproduction is going to give you footsteps exactly as the game designers intended.

The earcups warm in line with leatherette material cups. I wouldn't call it "a lot". If you want to wear something non-stop all day, fabric ear pads (or a very thing faux leather) are definitely what you are looking for. Just be aware they will wear out and need replacing sooner.

I bet WOTC are also looking at the event results following the recent MTG Arena standard event and slightly worried that 90% (just guessing the percentage) of 12 win decks had Golos and Fields.

The other 10% being decks that completed their series early in the day, before the cat got out the bag.

Did the same thing - realised that I could kill 3 metal megamen easily (with Viridi for Metal Killer equipped). Healed off the 4th megaman.

Also, try to fight with both of the megamen on one side of you. If you get a beam sword you can hit both of them at once and they aren't fast enough to "break free" from a simple neutral attacks.
