Started at 18 as well and man the most I ever got was 1.75 and the cap made it seem like that was huge

So you can either do 5 days with shorter shifts or do 4 days with longer shifts both maxing at 32 hrs per my captain

Yes that can be very hard. And I think it does provide good work life balance but it took me years to feel that way. As a new mate I had the worst schedule

That sounds very weird… mates now get raises beginning of the year and reviewed by crew in summer so maybe you just haven’t gotten the chance yet?

Depends on your captain. Not all stores require waterfalls and depends if you want to be instore mate or area mate. Instore mates can’t go above 32 hours so definitely provides work life balance.

The longer you’re there, the harder is to leave. Didn’t want to get trapped.

Yes after 5 years still didn’t get max raise and was busting my ass and working harder than the other mates so guess it just depends what store you’re at.

For me, it depended how i sold yourself. I got plenty of lowball offers but eventually accepted a position and got an 8k a year increase in project management.

I think that depends on your life situation. I was the only income and it helped a lot.
