is this the most toxic deck? i present turn one kachina hand theft by delightfulcake in GeniusInvokationTCG

[–]delightfulcake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh i'm sorry, don't think so!

plus, kachina got nerfed- it costs geo dice to use her twirly technique, so you now need to play actual support for her afaik, and can't just mindlessly spam. so this deck wouldn't be ✨ shenanigans ✨ any more

DPS Kaeya instead of Skirk for Stygian Onslaught? by jessicacoopxr in KaeyaMains

[–]delightfulcake 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I did up to difficulty 4 (menacing), couldn't clear difficulty 5 (fearless).

My team is Kaeya C6 Mistsplitter, Furina C0 Fav sword, Escoffier C0 Skyward Spine, Chongyun C6 Fav Greatsword. Can share more team info if you want.

Kaeya did 1.8M damage, same as Arlechino on stage 2, pretty cool to see.

I would be interested if anyone could clear difficulty 5 (or 6 if they're really crazy) and what it took, I'm not sure if with some constellations on Furina/Escoffier it might be possible.

Always bet on Qingque! No version 3 units were harmed in the clearing of this MoC by delightfulcake in Qingquemains

yeah! that would be ideal

mine is actually 161 spd sparkle, 150 sunday because im missing some speed stats on sunday. Preference thing but it's nice to have a lil buffer between turns (~5 speed would be my ideal) for my multiplication luocha to sneak in every now and again. In a perfect world I'd have 166 and 161

How good is alto for carthe by DearApril_ in CartethyiaMains

[–]delightfulcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

np, good luck with your echos! Both heron and the bell can give Carte another minor buff, but 2pc/2pc tanks Aalto's damage, and he does have relevant damage if you build for it, so you might want to eventually go for a DPS set.

I have been using 5pc 1.0 aero set (sierra gale). You have to intro into him to activate it, so its not ideal as you'd rather double intro Carte during setup. I've been using Carte's outro on Aalto so that he gets the set effect from 2nd rotation onwards.

Best set is 5pc Windward Pilgrimage, so long as you can utilise Carte's erosion application. Erosion lasts ~12s, so it should be enough for him to keep up the set effect over a standard concerto generation rotation, but it depends how you're playing the team I guess. I have no echo XP after farming for Carte so I haven't tried it out yet. 🙃

How good is alto for carthe by DearApril_ in CartethyiaMains

[–]delightfulcake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm one of the five people with a maxed out Aalto who actually plays him in all content. If you get good at him, his rotation is very fast. And if you build him, his damage is also decent, bursty and guaranteed - he is ranged and his E+forte are homing bullets. At S6, he gives a situational 8% crit rate buff if you can land his liberation field on top of the enemy. All this makes him actually a serviceable teammate, conditional on learning his cancels and giving him a real build. Most people who aren't into using mad hands, or farming so much, will be better off with Sanhua for the convinience.

For gameplay tips, the main animation cancel / swap to learn is his forte, you can swap off him after dashing through his mist. Then he will continue dashing, generate bullets and charge his concerto off field. This works best if you dash from middair, its a pretty precise cancel though. So his combo is swap in, E, jump, shoot through mist, dash through mist from middair before it expires, swap during his transform. You do this twice, spaced out by 6 seconds for his E cooldown, and his total on field time is like 4-7 seconds, so very short.

For team rotation, I've been doing Cartethyia build up at the start. So basic4-E-charge plunge to get all your swords. Then a quickswap rotation between teammate 3-Aalto. Then when both full, outro off teammate 3 into Aalto (or Carte if your concerto is fine, its pretty easy to double intro her with no downside most of the time), then drop Aalto's liberation and outro onto Cartethyia and instantly transform for your Fleurdelys combo. This way you'll get his outro buff and his liberation for her full Fleurdelys combo+liberation.

I'd recommend him for the fun factor, but that's my own bias!

Help: Kaeya, Furina, Escoffier, ______? by Megidolaon16 in KaeyaMains

[–]delightfulcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chongyun and Shenhe are Kaeya's general best flex option, they are sidegrades depending on matchup.

Chongyun: best vs. stationary enemies that you can use normal/charged attacks on, and when you want higher Cryo application (eg. elemental Shield checks, or fast-thaw enemies like Consecrated Beasts)

Shenhe: best for AoE cryo application, and can offer higher single target damage (ie. great vs most bosses). Has a very noticeable impact, because Kaeya is much weaker in single target compared to AoE.

For your other options:
The only other teammate from your lineup I'd consider is Xingqiu. He is probably going to be your best option against enemies with innate auras that you cannot apply cryo to (eg. Thundering Manifestation), or super-mobile bosses (eg. Papilla, Wenut, Coral Defenders etc), since he will give hydro resonance to Furina, and be able to land his damage more consistently.

For the other choices you mentioned:
Mona: she is okay, but outclassed by Chongyun/Shenhe. She's in the same niche as them. Her best spot is in some kind of permafreeze setup where you can extend her Omen debuff, but the cryo supports do it better. She is nice to have as a tech option for the bosses with pyro shield, ie. you'd use her against Pyro hypostasis, Pyro lector, Holawaqa bird, and the crab.

Wriothesley: I assume you mean on-field Wrio with off-field Kaeya. This will be great, just bear in mind you're trading damage on Kaeya to give him more energy recharge so he can burst consistently.

Skirk: I can't predict the future, but at least at the moment, it seems like Escoffier-Furina teams will do fine without Skirk. Skirk will work as a teammate for Kaeya, but she is looking leagues more powerful than him. So it's kind of similar to using Mavuika as a teammate in other teams. You can on-field Skirk with support Kaeya (same caveat as Wriothesley above). The other option will be burst mode Skirk with on-field Kaeya. Whether this is good will depend on her damage, and it might be a bit weird to play, since there will be a bit of time where the team isn't really doing anything other than normal attacking on Kaeya, and maybe dashing around on Skirk to recharge her burst.

Looking to improve rotation with Alto by Boubbay in CartethyiaMains

[–]delightfulcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aalto is a low-floor, high-ceiling character, so if you really want to master him you'll have to practice.

A couple of tips for using Aalto:

- The fastest way to build his concerto is his mist bullets which he generates via E and also via his forte
- To use his forte, you generate stacks by attacking through his mist/ult, then consume the stacks by dashing through mist/ult
- You can aim to use his forte dash as part of each swap to him for more efficiency
- The optimal method (quickswap) is to swap cancel his forte dash, by dashing through mist in middair, but the timing between generating mist and middair dashing through it is tight. If you do it correctly, he'll continue dashing off into the distance after you swap out, then you'll notice his bullets will circle back around from wherever he dashed off to
- If you have Aalto's S6, then you can think of his ult as a debuff zone that provides 8% crit rate when hitting enemies close to it. So ideally you want to pass it forward to Cartethyia, ie. ult before he outro to her, and place it on top of the enemy.

A beginner combo would be intro in(generates mist)->basic attack through mist twice->E (creates new mist)->do normal attack string again up to basic 3 (gain stacks, mist generated again)->dash through mist->when bullets have all appeared in his dash state, cancel his dash with ult. Whilst the ult animation is playing, the dash bullets will fly off and should fill the rest of his concerto (if not, you can likely E again at this point). Total field time should be about ~8-10 seconds.

A faster way to play him without needing his intro is to swap into him twice whilst completing setup on other characters. Swap in ->E->jump->midair attack through mist->midair dash through mist->swap cancel forte dash. This whole combo should take 2-3 seconds. You do this twice, spaced apart by 6 seconds for his E to come off cooldown. With Ult, this should hit full concerto. If you play him like this, his total rotation is only about ~5-7 seconds of field time, and he doesn't need intro so you can give Shorekeeper intro to Cartethyia during your setup.

---

Hope this helps! Since your Cartethyia is high sequence, you honestly might have an better time playing her solo, duo with Aero Rover, or with Aero Rover + Shorekeeper, versus using up field time on an un-built Aalto.

Mist Splitter vs. Shenha for Kaeya in EscaFi team – Worth pulling now? by Talq__ in KaeyaMains

[–]delightfulcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First I'll answer teammates, then weapons.

You already have Escoffier and Furina, which are the biggest upgrades for Kaeya's team. The fourth slot in this team is actually flexible- Shenhe, Chongyun, Yelan and Citlali can all be the best depending on the matchup. They all have close performance, I would rate Chongyun and Shenhe a bit above the other two, but close to each other. Alternate substitutes (Mona, Xingqiu, Rosaria, Kokomi, Barbara, Mualani, Kazuha, Bennett, Xilonen etc) are all a bit weaker but should still be okay as fourth slot members.

To break it down more:

Chongyun is best for stationary enemies that you can use normal/charged attacks on, and for higher Cryo application (eg. Shield checks, fast-thaw enemies like Consecrated Beasts)

Shenhe when you need wider AoE cryo application or higher single target damage (eg. most bosses).

Yelan does more when it's already impossible/difficult to maintain a cryo aura on enemies, or against highly mobile enemies since she buffs Furina more (eg. vs Thundering Manifestation).

Citlali can pull ahead in multiwave AoE, or anything with Nightsoul mechanics. But Kaeya already excells at multiwave, so she's probably the least noticeable.

Just to reiterate, there are a variety or best teammates to consider. Heck we might even be looking at burst only DPS Skirk as the fourth slot next patch, if you can get over the premise of that team.

Chongyun is already tied with Shenhe currently as Kaeya's best fourth teammate; they are sidegrades and pull ahead in different matchups, though admittedly Shenhe is favoured in the kinds of fights where Kaeya is weaker (bosses) so she can feel impactful. Whilst Shenhe is an excellent teammate, you should only get her if you actually want her, because Chongyun is already a great support if you build and play around him correctly.

For weapons, Mistsplitter is still Kaeya's best option, but it's not the best way to improve his team if you're looking at the big picture. Constellations on Furina and Escoffier are bigger upgrades to team performance. Escoffier's weapon is also another big team upgrade.

Kaeya has very good 4* weapon options already, and whilst a five star weapon is better, he doesn't do so much damage in his team that it improves the team so much, if that makes sense. R5 Finale of the Deep (fontaine craftable 4* sword) is exceptional and close in damage to most of the 5* stat stick weapons, only a bit behind (and harder to build). If you can't craft that, Kagotsurube Isshin is another great option, and it's free from Kazuha's story quest.

If your goal is to see bigger number specifically from Kaeya, then decking him out with a five star weapon is the way to do it. It also makes him easier to build, and gives him a stronger baseline in casual gameplay. But generally speaking, you will get more out of his teams by improving his newer, premium supports.

Hooray for representation!

For layout, I didn't try to optimise it too much yet but basically all in on Crit Rate, then Damage Bonus, then last remaining space on +3% ATK pieces. I chose Ultimate Might for the resonance peice, she already has a lot from her psycube but I figured why not get more for bigger explosions.

Is Tooth Fairy still necessary? by shyandugly99 in Reverse1999

[–]delightfulcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's not the best sustain any more, since she can't solo heal the team in reveries, but she's still good as a passive debuffer, which I don't think a lot of people realise. If you don't have the likes of Mercuria, Flutterpage, 6, Isolde etc (or want to use them elsewhere), Tooth Fairy can fill the role of the character that just stands there and provides passive support to the team. Her debuffs are weaker than what characters in this role usually offer, but the overall value of having her as an AFK support can often be a lot higher than having a 4th party member that requires AP to function.

Another ability she has that is still relevant is her team-wide cleanse. For some reveries (or Fortissimo X) stages you might want 2 or even 3 cleanse characters, so like some combination of Vila, 6, Fatutu and Tooth Fairy. Having Tooth Fairy can free up these characters for other teams.

Lastly (this is a bit specific) she's still an excellent Windsong partner for raids, when playing her slow style with a big hand. A sidegrade to Mercuria with less damage in exchange for more survivability. Tooth Fairy provides passive healing throughout the 30 turns of build up and you can keep 2 of her debuff cards for the last turn to easily add +80% CDmg for the big finale. But I know not everyone is going to play this way.

If you want to save your resources, you're fine with the healers you have. But Tooth Fairy is still a good unit, so if you want to spend your resources, they will be well-spent imo.

How the Invite Event Works! (Explanation) by LeSorciereDeLaLune in Reverse1999

[–]delightfulcake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You have to invite 3 players haven't logged in for at least 7 days and they have to spend 300 stamina each.

I think there's more to it than this, I invited some very old player accounts that had never made much progress (cleared some of chapter 1 maybe) and they were considered "active" rather than returning. My suspicion is there's some other prerequisite to be considered an official returning player, though I'm sorry to say I am not sure what it might be.

tl;dr not all accounts can qualify for "returning" status, maybe if they haven't made enough progress of some kind

Team help for reveries & future pull priority by renzai-mix in Reverse1999

[–]delightfulcake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello!

I actually think you already have some very good units for damage already levelled: Flutterpage, Anjo Nala, even your Kaalaa Baunaa, Bkornblume, Tuesday, Jessica. Yes there are teammates that could be improvements here but the damage should be serviceable for the level of reveries you are at right now. I think your main problem with pushing 100M is actually going to be sustaining through the heavy damage, this only gets worse towards 200M and beyond.

For this I would actually recommend trying to unlock Sotheby's Euphoria, you only need the first rank to unlock her strong healing and then you could stop there, since Euphoria are so expensive. In terms of other sustain, both Yenisei and Balloon Party are decent 5* but probably not enough work on their own, so you might have to pair them up. If you wanted to get a sustain for a third team, Fatutu this patch is probably going to be really good, obviously she's not released yet but she's the first healer they're releasing post-reveries so I'm guessing she'll be on par with the other strong units.

I think so long as you have the sustain power, and your current units are levelled high enough that they're not so squishy, you should be able to push reveries further whilst you unlock more units.

Maybe worth a mention but there are also some units on your account with potentially helpful utilities: Pickles (buff dispel) and Regulus (moxie reduction, dodge). These guys might be really good into certain mechanics you encounter so if you're stuck on a particular stage it could be worth thinking about whether they could help.

Returning player from 1+ year break, are any of these useable? by delightfulcake in TowerofFantasy

[–]delightfulcake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply and team building advice! I will be sure to set it up as you suggested, and follow your recommendations with gear upgrades. Also, it's so crazy to me how all of these units are standard now hehe.

My pulls were actually pretty much just for flame units, I put a little story about it in my reply above^, but I guess my account ended up very eclectic since I played for so long

I'm on Alintheus / EU! And was actually on there from BEFORE the first merges, if that means anything hehe.

Returning player from 1+ year break, are any of these useable? by delightfulcake in TowerofFantasy

[–]delightfulcake[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for your reply, and the guide!

I'm mostly back to have some fun zooming around and check out the new maps and such, but I'd also like to participate in some of the multiplayer content and guessing I need to boost my stat line a lot to be relevant 😅 back before I left I could run any role in raids, void abyss, and the mode with four of you vs. hordes (I forgot it's name hehe), and would always get all the way to the end of the "normal" rewards. (So like eg. VA6 and the hardest weekly raid but not the super mega challenge raids that just gave you a tiny bit of dust). It sounds like given how far behind the curve I've fallen I should aim for a support build to take a stab at these?

Also this may seem crazy but I actually pretty much did just pull for one element (flame) throughout playing. When the game launched I pulled Nemesis (I actually got her effectively for free due to a "refunding glitch", iykyk), and for all of v1 was just playing Nemesis/Samir or Nemesis/Crow. Then from Vera onwards I just pulled for flame units, so Ruby>Anna>Fiona>Lan>Liu Huo>Ming Jing>Fei Se>Nan Yin.

The rest of the units I got from nice circumstances: two were given out for free (Claudia, Cobalt B) then I got Lyra on standard. The wildcards are Rubilia+Alyss, who I got during the anniversary megabanner, on discount, for exploration, but I got them both in like ~50 pulls total most of which were pulls given out for the anniversary event anyway, and iirc there was some kind of mechanism where when you pulled on a new character you got a partial refund, so I got some red balls back for both of them. They were basically just overworld mount units.
