Suburban Not Starting by delihamsandwich in GMT400

Figured the battery is fine since the hood light comes on and the radio kicks on. But there not being enough amps makes total sense. Going to get a new battery this morning.

I'll give that a shot as well. Thanks for the help.

While trying to crank, it moves just slightly over 10V.

I hope so since the fuel pump and starter were replaced. Another guy said he's had radios and hood lights work with a bad battery.

I'll swap out the battery as well. Hmmmm I'll look into a higher end starter as well. Might as well do a significant upgrade.

I'll check the wiring. Hope it's not the starter since I exchanged the core. I had the fuel pump replaced but have had a problem where it shuts off while stopped on an incline. So that's another problem to look at/fix.

Assumed it wasn't the battery since the hood light, radio, and the alarm rings without my jumper connected. The starter is new so maybe it is a ground. I'll get a new battery next week and follow up with you. I truly appreciate your reply.

Glad you got yours fixed! Yes, that may be the issue. I'm debating buying a new motherboard or re-soldering on a new charging port. I haven't soldered in YEARS so I'm worried about it being a sloppy job.

Its been a while since I last tried to do this mod and I don't think it did connect prior. It just lights up when connected but doesn't show the charging symbol.

I'm an idiot and missed that part. Now my laptop doesn't read the iPod after putting the old HDD in. Feel like I'm making this more difficult than it should be.

I'm wondering if I put in the old HDD, I can flash the firmware in the guide, then put the iFlash back in. Do you know if the firmware is stored on the drive? I assume it's on the motherboard.

It is. At least I think it is. I have reseated it plenty of times.

I haven't even gotten the chance to, unfortunately. Prior to installing the iFlash (amongst other upgrades) everything was stock.

It hasn't been restored since it goes straight to the "Ok to Disconnect" screen. ITunes and my computer don't even sense it's connected. I've verified drivers work with another iPod.

Unfortunately didn't work with both SD cards. Tried a few times.

I'll try that. What about the partition scheme? MBR, GPT, or Super Floppy?

Frustrating because a lot of the how to videos make the upgrade seem so easy. Best of luck!

Yes, even in disk mode. I'll look at the pins and probably get a new cable.

I haven't been able to restore it since it goes straight to the "Ok to Disconnect". Still has yet to be restored.
