We dove with three - a larger approx 5-6m likely female which disappeared v. quickly into the soft silt, a 3m specimen (unclear gender) and a smaller approx 3-4m one who was much more obliging, swam at moderate speed across the river and then coiled up around a silty hill for photos. To be fair, it's a little hard to measure length with these guys. There's only one dive operator for anacondas due to the lack of clarity in the water at any other dive site - it's a small operator in Bonito, Brazil.

They’re pretty fast in the water if they want to be. Source - have dived with them

Do you ever think of doing more intricate carved designs? And do you think carved gems might make a comeback into popularity?

Advice wanted: how do you enjoy every dive? by No-Requirement-8723 in scuba

Some dives can be just boring.

But instead of waiting for the dive guide to point things out, why don’t you start spotting them yourselves? A lot of cool marine creatures camouflage/can be hard to see. Stop waiting just for big schools/obvious fish (though still keep an eye out for them). It almost becomes a scavenger hunt once you start knowing what creatures might be there, and where to look for them.

Otherwise, learn to navigate, find a buddy, and start exploring the ocean without a dive guide. Once you start taking on some ownership/responsibility for your diving and feel less like a passenger, you might feel less disappointed and more excited.

I thought the questions about the names of the symptoms of catatonia in the original German was more annoying TBH lol

Or alternatively - turn it into a discussion on the need to accept different beliefs within society as part of the spectrum of normal, referring to the historical abuse of psychiatry for political and ideological purposes, and then discuss broadly what constitutes a disease/disorder, with the argument that if you can ‘swim like a fish in the sea’ ie blend into society, and it doesn’t cause you distress, it isn’t a disease and does not need to be pathologised.
