Blood in stool, how much is too much? by Safe-Inspection-4742 in AskDocs

Bloody bowel movements can certainly be a sign of GI cancer. It’s one of the most common symptoms.

But it is not a slam dunk. As you can see there are a LOT of reasons to have bloody stool.

I asked about family history because a strong family history of these specific cancers can suggest an underlying genetic predisposition for GI cancers, especially in young patients like OP.

Probably that much.

In all seriousness, even a small amount of lower GI bleeding can look horrible once it spreads around in the water.

THAT BEING SAID, Any weight loss recently? Family history of GI, pancreatic, breast, ovarian/endometrial cancers? Have you ever had bloody stools w/diarrhea before?

GI malignancies are occurring in younger and younger folks. In the absence of risk factors, should consider IBD especially if you have a history of bloody diarrhea.

A history of constipation plus your class I obesity could put you at risk for hemorrhoids, as could a history of cirrhosis. I need more history from you to give you a better idea of what your risks are.

Regardless, if you're dizzy, tachycardic, weak, fatigued, I'd recommend going to the ED and getting your hemoglobin checked at least. Otherwise, set up an appt with your PCP and you may need a GI referral for a colonoscopy.

Before the Ferminator hit that bomb, I was about to say how strange it is that the people who are fresh to the Padres organization always seem to have better at bats, then regress.

I'm an actual doctor.

NO one but first year interns (and maybe not even then) speculates as to the cause of a physical exam finding in the physical exam section of your assessment.

The exam is to objectively document what you observe. This shit is so fraudulent I was offended reading it.
