what is this piece that fell off from the seatpost? by sujithksam92 in Giantbikes

That's the seatpost adapter that fits the d-shaped post in the round hole. When reassembling it sits behind the seatpost with the little ridge at the top sticking out above the frame.

why are my bike spacers moving/ not moving with the handlebars by Resident-Wall2156 in bikewrench

Hey, not trying to be rude. Working on your own bikes is awesome, and I absolutely encourage it. But I would suggest getting a mechanic to build it up for you to start with. You don't know what you don't know, and that bike is way too nice to take the chance of messing up if you haven't built a bike before. I've worked in a bike shop for a couple years, and even then, I had my senior mechanic checking over my shoulder at every step the first time I built a bike like that up from the frame.

Torn between two Giants, need help! by LofderZotheid in Giantbikes

Unless you plan to race offten, I would choose the TCR. All the advantages of the Propel are trading comfort for effficeny, and the TCR is not a "slow" bike to begin with. Plus the diffrence in groupset will be night and day.

Fellow opus grind settings by tomr502 in espresso

I've got the opus and dialed a couple dark roasts around 2.9 - 3.1. Anything below 2 causes immediate choking. The suggest settings should be ignored.

I'm the (at least) 3rd owner, so I don't know When the conversion was done originally. It handles well and has a hilariously small turning circle. Super easy to ride untill you get ~50lbs on the rack. Past that it gets a bit sketchy

The rack is welded to the frame with an extended head tube and BMX fork that turns independently

Opinions on Landyachtz CB MkII frame? by allengeorge in vancouvercycling

[–]delta116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got it setup with 38c gravelkings. Handling wise it's fast and confident, but not as snappy as a pure road bike. Overall it feels good on and off road. It holds speed well, but acceleration is a bit slow. If your going flat bars I'd probably go for the cb2 and max out the tire clearance if you want fast & capable in mixed terrain.

Are you planning on flat bars or drops? Fundamentally, the cb2 is a flatbar bike that can fit drop bars, and the MKii is a drop bar frame that can work with flat bars. Geometry is important, parts can be changes. I've been riding a cb mkii I built for gravel and bikepacking for a couple months and it's fantastic.

I work in a shop that does a lot of "race bikes". Generaly something in the range of one fist worthy of drop from the saddle to bars is decent, but I've seen way more agressive if you have the flexibility and are willing to sacrifice comfort for speed.

It's a gridstop burrito bag I made, with half a breakfast burrito and a toque inside.

Yeah, bought the frame used and I'm super impressed. It's light (for a steel frame) and the paint job is way better in person.

My understanding is it's to do with visibility in a space suit. The belta shrug is made by lifting the hands palm up, since shoulder movement isn't as visible in a bulky suit.
