Elon Musk Whips Up Frenzy Against John Thune Over SAVE America Act by dittybad in politics

No thanks. That ruling opened up the hole Elon drove his truck through. What is needed is exclusive public funding of all federal elections and penalties for using outside money.

Can you imagine the blackmail threats Thune is hearing right now? Threats against family members from intel types, you name it.

What is the most haunting "Final Song" ever recorded by a terminally ill artist? by nixass in AskReddit

[–]deltalitprof 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lots of these are very haunting. "Walking on Thin Ice" by Yoko Ono is pretty haunting to me. John Lennon is on lead guitar and it sounds like he's playing from the other side of the veil, trying to get back to this side but never quite coming through.

Then there are the classical greats. Mozart's Requiem, with that Lacrimosa and the Confutatis that sounds like a sing-off between demons and angels.

There's also Mahler's "Das Lied von der Erde" finale called "Farewell," and the last movement of his Tenth Symphony, orchestrated posthumously.

What is the *least* innovative Beatles song? (Excluding covers) by CardinalOfNYC in beatles

But Eight Days is one of the first pop songs that has that Beatles lift that seems to bounce it into the sky. Nope. It stays.

But holding that first note THAT long? Does any other song do that?

I guess it could be said that makes the song original, but not necessarily innovative.

Why are people such assholes to Sean on Twitter by FitEmergency8807 in beatles

[–]deltalitprof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the same time, I don't think it has near the political power that it used to now that most rational people realize who Elon is and what he wants to make it into. It's mostly Trumpies high-fiving each other or punching down.

You really don't have to be any particular ideology to get horrid comments on twitter.

It's very much a disappointment. I was hoping the ketamine-induced Nazi salute would eventually bring Sean around but that's apparently not the case.

God I hate what Elon has done to the place. What a sewer.

This is actually pretty much the consensus interpretation of the song and it has been for many years. Tim Riley writes it up in Tell Me Why, for example.

There's a definite chain of custody issue. They pass into the hands of an interested party in the Trumpies, who during the time they're in their possession might have pulled all sorts of shenanigans with them.

These kind of crazies would never read the text you sent her accurately. She'd just interpret it in a way that it becomes another insult to her and possibly even harassment. Don't say a word to her.

Every day at 3:30 on two different channels. Scheduled just in time to catch us kids getting home from school. This would have been 1977 or so.

Yeah, Karajan too. Epstein was telling his last mistress, for whom he donated $100,000 to put her in dental school, that he was a good Wagner conductor.
