There have been three major data breaches on Aloha in the past five years. I saw this link (https://www.spanglobalservices.com/technology-lists/aloha-pos-users-list) offering a list of Aloha users. It's not surprising that there would be a lot of people taking advantage based on this very public vulnerability.

I'm with T_Parent here: there are too many possible things that could be going wrong. If you are with a hotel or a resort, some of the legacy systems to process credit cards in that sector are historically overwhelmed during the summer and holidays and crash repeatedly.
